The area around my incision is still numb...My son is 3 1/2 years old! I was numb about 2-3 inches all around my incision for the first year or two after his birth. It does lessen more & more as time passes, but nerves are the slowest thing in your body to rengenerate. Hope that calms any fears. Congrats on the new baby!

Yes...certain sections of my stomach, where the incision is from my c-section, are numb and some are very sensitive. I had my c-section almost 2 yrs ago. This is very normal because some of the nerves in your skin got cut and never healed back to normal or back the way they were before the surgery.

I have had 2 c'sections and parts of my incision are still numb. The muscle is seperated and takes a while to grow back and get sensation. Exercise and stretching/massaging might help get your sensation back. it can take up to 6 months for the numbness to go away.

Yes. After a year I still have numb spots and you will eventually have a mild burning sensation. It's because your nerves were cut. When they start growing back together is when you'll feel a tingly or burning sensation. It's okay. But if it really freaks you out just call your OB/GYN.

It didn't happen with my C-section, but after my hysterectomy my left upper thigh was numb. It stayed that way for many months. My doctor said it could be the surgeon snipped a nerve. It takes a long time for the nerve to grow back, she added. I would suggest asking your doctor if the numbness continues.

I have had two and it's normal. That same thing happened to me. If your worried about it call the doctor that delivered the baby.
