I am 38 weeks pregnant with my second. My baby dropped down in to my pelvic floor about 2 days ago. I can tell because I am having extreme pelvic pressure along with easy bowel movements, ect. How long was it before you gave birth after your baby 'Dropped?"

Advice offered on-line re. skating and pregnancy:

"Stop at four months."
"Don't."
"Don't -- unless you're really good at it."

Because, well, "ooh -- you might fall."

But:

"Most accidental falls during pregnancy cause no problems, due to the superior cushion the amniotic fluid provides."

I'm from Ottawa, home of 'the world's longest outdoor skating rink.' I'm three months along. I think the last time I fell skating, I was a kid myself. My centre of gravity is still the same.

I suppose what I'm trying to figure out is if skating is really more dangerous than anything else one does while not on complete bedrest. And balance out the 1-to-10000000000 risk that I'm going to fall for the first time in twenty years, vs not getting any exercise at all; it's one of the few forms of exercise I don't loathe. And falls while skating do not involve trauma to the abdomen; you usually land on your hands, first, so -- what's the risk of falling like _that_?

I had cramping for 24 hours a week ago, and it started up again about 30 hours ago and hasn't stopped. The hopital said I am contracting, but that I do not have dehydration, or any type of infection. They kept me for 6 hours, with no change in effacement, and no dilation, and then released me. But I am still cramping, which means I am still contracting. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them so early, and if their doctor did anything different?

I have had unprotected sex w my bf right up till abt dec 31... around Jan 2nd i felt nauseated and threw up a few times in the night. The doc diagnosed as stomach flu. On Jan 6, I've had spotting. My last period was dec 21. The spotting varies fr brownish to pinkish. V light. It continued till now. But between 16th-19th Jan, only when I wiped. Now the spotting continues. I thot perhaps my period came. But now its v light and brown (looks like old blood) I tend to get rather heavy periods. On a few occassions, I also felt faint. 3 pregnancy home tests have came up negative. Shld I test further??

What things do you need to do, or not do, to prevent a miscarriage in your first trimester? It seems to be a really common occurance and I am trying to be really careful these 3 months.

I'm in my ninth month and like many pregnant women, am getting anxious. So what old-wives tales, superstitions, or 'labor food' have you heard of? Did you try it? If so, did it work? This is mostly just for fun & to make the wait easier.

(I'm aware Castor oil is dangerous without a doctor's supervision, so I won't even consider trying it. I don't want to risk the baby geting meconium poisoning from it)

I've been tracking my cycle this month, for the fact that we think we could be pregnant...and if not we know what my cycle is like....so I have notice things that I don't know is normal (if period is to come) or not. Reall quick, I am sure I ovulated on the 10, had unprotected sex on the 6th....two-three days after ovulation I had very slight milky discharge with a small clump...after and up till today it has been clear and stringy...TODAY I had a very long (alot) of the the stringy stuff but slightly milky...wiped again and just a little more of the clear but still slight milky. I am somewhat late that is if my cycle is 28 day (jan 18 due) and if I am the maximum day cycle, 34 days, I still have no signs of my period coming!!! I've tested two times and two came out very very very VERY slight possitive, another test (different brand) negative! I excuse the slight positive for evaported lines or default of the test. I just want to know is todays discharge a sign of period coming???

Ok another question, My last Dr's appt they found protein in my urine. At my Dr's office im high risk, But they are vague when it comes to telling me things. Now finding protein i my urine does that mean I will develop preeclampsia at some point in the pregnancy, or its just a higher risk??

My vagina is really sore and itchy and I've had an increase in discharge..is this a yeast infection? If it is I've never had one this severe, or is it just one of the many problems pregnant women get in their last trimester? Thanks =)

Me & my live-in sweetie have just found out I'm pregnant. I'm 42, he's 41 & neither of us have ever been married, nor do we have children. After the inital shock wore off, he has turned into a BIG jerk!! I keep getting comments like "If you really are pregnant" or "Let's wait & see" - I took 3 tests ( 2 with his "supervision") & he is becoming more of a jerk each day. Why has he suddenly become so mean & distant to me? (We weren't planning children, but had talked about what if.....) He seemed excited at first, but now he just acts like it is all my fault & refuses to even talk about it!! HELP!!

PS - I haven't used any birth control for over 12 years - didn't think children was in my or our future.
