sometimes and the doctor okayed it. Im 6 12 months along with my thrid child and i plan i breastfeeding this one, i didnt with the other two. What is the point of breastfeeding if you feed the child formula sometimes if you donthave enough milk? I know all about the benefits of breastfeeding and all. But i dont get it with the whole formula thing, people didnt use formula way back when, so how did they get by if they didnt have enough milk? Has anyone else done this? Has anyone never had to use formula? Im confused, I wanted to breastfeed my child completely, not add formula on the side. Any ideas here?

My 10 month old girl squeal/screeches so loudly and at such a high pitch that it is almost painful. Any ideas how to get her to stop or at least limit the behavior? I'm not sure how to try and get this across to a 10 month old.

My baby is a little over a week old. I have to wake her up to eat and she will only eat on 1 breast at a time. I try to feed her every 2-3 hours but a lot of times she wont feed for 5-6 hours. She doesn't ever cry to let me know she is hungry. Is this normal?

My Daughter is a month old and I know they say that you aren't supposed to let babies sleep on their tummy but the other day on tummy time she fell asleep and she stayed sleeping for awhile and she was really relaxed and let go of alot of gas. She is a really gassy baby and now I find that if she is sleeping on her tummy she sleeps so much better. I sit with in eye shot of her to make sure she is ok but I never fall asleep when she is on her tummy and sleeping. Is it ok to let her sleep on her tummy as long as I am watching her constantly?

I have a friend who insist that her daughter is ready for table food and gives her anything from pizza to pastas to steak to chocolate cake. She started her daughter on stage 1 foods at 3 months old and at 4 months old she was eating stage 3 foods. I know all babies are different, but every mom and doctor I have talked to say wait until they are at least 9-10 months old before giving them table food. Her daughter weighs 23 lbs and was born at 8 lbs 9 oz. My son is the same age and is one stage 1 and occasionally stage 2 foods and weighs about 17 lbs. It seems that her daughter is heading down the path to be an overweight child. Is she feeding her baby table food too soon?

My son is 11 months old and has never had tears when he cries. Our ped just sent us to and eye doctor that said it is really rare, but some people do not produce tears when they cry. Anyone heard of this? It is permenant? He does not have a blocked tear duct, his eyes look normal- no reddness or swelling. Does this condition have a name?

ive been using dr.brown bottles for about 2 months but they are really a hassle to wash and was wanting to switch to regular bottles.i want to know if they really help or if its just a bunch of crock.i cant tell because around the same time i started using dr browns i switched to lacto free milk so i think the difference i noticed had to do with the milk and not the bottle

found it interesting how many people use the Target diapers. I think these diapers are great also. I also love the Kroger brand. I was also wondering if it would be worth getting a Cosco card to get baby stuff there?

Hi I just came back from my daughters 18 month check-up and I wanted to know what ya'll think about her growth and compare to other babies. Her weight is 24 lbs and height is 33 inches. I know what the doctor thinks but I would like to compare to other children.

I started feeding my daughter rice cereal at 4 months. 2 days ago i started feeding her rice cereal with bananas. Do you think this is why it is black/purple? or could it be another reason and should i worry about it enough to call the doctor?

btw- her poop was hard before but never this color it was always likea light green/yellow color.

I have let my nine week old sleep with us since he was born. I have heard conflicting information regarding safety. Everything from "it's dangerous" to it "reduces the risk of SIDS". I would like to find good information from reputable sources on this issue.
