Newborn & Baby - June 2006

I have a 8 months old daughter. I leave my daughter to a babysitter when I'm working. The babysitter likes to add artificial flavour to my daughter's porridge and it makes my daughter loves to eat food that make by her and refuse to eat Gerber baby food. I'm worried if the flavour will give bad effect to my daughter. What is the best food that I can make by myself to my baby? Or is there any other suggestions how to stop the babysitter from adding the artificial flavour?

Here's a silly question..my 4 month old son sleeps on his tummy at night (he rolls over from his back) when he wakes up for a feeding his pj's are all wet from peeing because when he's on his tummy he pees up....what can I do so he doesnt do this?

I'm due to have my baby in about 2 weeks and really need to find a crib that is safe. I had bought one from kmart(I know,horrible choice)and it came defective. So does anyboy have any suggestions?? I would like one that costs around 300 and that's,like I said..safe.

i am trying to get my 10 day old baby to latch on but he just wont, he wont open his mouth enough and he is not letting his tounge come down enough to cup the nipple, so i am only pumping my milk but i am frustrated because i am only getting 1.5 to 2 ounces each pump which is every 2 hours. i am pumping for 10- 15 minutes and i dont feel like i am getting enough, i feel that something is wrong with me that i cant do this the right way and that i dont have a large milk supply, what do i do?

when is it ok to give infants fruit juices and yogurt? i have heard that it is good for them but i thought you werent supposed to give dairy or citrus to children until 1 year of age.

ok...so i have this great party planned....looking for help with the centerpieces...the theme is a garden/frog pond type thing...

anyway...for the centerpieces was looking to find silk lily pads and flowers i could float in bowls on the table...

Is that true? I know when I was in school there were alot of people with unique names who were never teased, and there were alot of people with regular names who were. There was a David who was called Dah-veed (sorry hard to spell that) and a Jared who was called Jar-head. There was a Lauren called Lorkin and a Emily called Elmer. Then there were kids with names like Ariel, Kamela, Colby, Stormy, & Ned and they were never harrassed or teased. What do you think? Is that just a myth you think?

he usually sleeps in the bed with me and my husband and when he wakes up wanting to ear(since im nursing him) i roll over and pop a boob in his mouth and go back to sleep, i would get out of bed to do it and somestimes i do when he's in his crib but i'm up at 530 in the morning for work so it's exhuasting. when he is in his crib he dors the same thing, i try giving him cereal mixed with baby food and nursing him b4 he goes to bed, but it doesn't work, i thought maybe it was just the sucking motion he wanted so i tryed a passy and he won't take it. how do i get him to sleep through the night? please help i'm soooo sleepy!!!!!!!! lol!!!!!!

My Early intervention therapist suggesting these finger food puffs for my son to help with pincer and picking up foods- he still is pretty bad with tongue and getting food into mouth vs shirt, hands, etc. Question is how many, 80 per serving- he tends to put a lot in his mouth if I give him more than 10- can the baby choke on these- melts in mouth (?) Thanks!
