Baby teethers are so big, because they are made so baby's do not put them in there mouth when parents are not watching and choke. They also are so the are more soothing for the baby's mouth and cover most of there mouth all at once. Which helps there teeth come in much faster and quickly which is better for the baby as well as the parents.

teethers are okay, however none of my boys ever really used them. They much enjoyed a washcloth soaked in cold water.
A frozen waffle I heard is an awesome snack and teether. The little that they 'gum' off won't hurt them either, so said the doctor.

As for the girl who said 'sticks of frozen carrott'- this could be very dangerous as the frozen nature could harm the gums, and the carrott could break off a hard unmeltable hard piece...choking hazzard. (I don't like taking chances that could KILL my kids)

Only if you freeze them. If they aren't frozen then they can get holes in them if they are teething and the stuff inside is bad for them. If they are teething and the teether is frozen then it will help the pain.

Yeah, because chewing puts pressure on the gums and helps to push the teeth through. I always gave my kids sticks of frozen carrot too.
