My little guy did this a few times at first too, but doesn't now...not sure why. You might try a different brand of diaper or try to point his little pistol down instead of up. Mine son even would shoot it out the side of his leg! We were changing clothes all of the time. Now, he's 11 months and has better control.

I have two boys. I know what you mean. I had one that did this too. For one, it is necessary to get good diapers that fasten tightly at the top for best protection. The cheap brands get wet and loosen. You can always reinforce it with a peice of surgical tape, duck tape, etc. Sounds funny but helps keep them dry. I'd tape where the sticky tabs are to hold them in place until changing. If you are using cloth diapers, or disposable diapers, getting the diaper covers is a good idea (diaper covers look like a clear plastic underware that were first invented for the cloth diapers. If gotten big enough they can fit over a disposable diaper too) Just some ideas, I wish you well.

Make sure that you have the diaper on snugly. If that doesn't work, you can try other brands of diapers as some of them fit differently. Also, if your son is sleeping through long stretches at night, you may want to consider diapers for night time. Huggies has a Overnite brand of diapers that absorbs a lot more.

okay it depends, the only time my son ever leaked like that was when his diaper was to small. and even thought he was in the right weight for the diapers, they fit him different because of his Build. you can try doing that first, or try a different kind of diaper. also make sure you change his diaper RIGHT before he goes to sleep and if he wakes up at night for a feed still change it then. that will also cut down on the leaking.

LOL i'm a mother of an almost 12 year old boy... sleeping on tummies is a very controversial issue right now.. but both my kids did and ended up find... anyway....when you put his diaper on you have to make sure that his penis is pointing downwards.. not up....that helps a lot... otherwise prop him on his side.. which is what doctors reccommend now anyway.

I've had the best luck with Huggies. And Huggies Supremes are a little pricier, but they have more padding. All Huggies have nice elastic/stretchy bands at the top. Also, have you tried pointing his penis down before putting the diaper on? This is something the nurse in the hospital told us to do and it seems to work

Make sure when you are changing his diaper before he goes down for the night that his weewee is pointing down. My son did them same thing and sometimes still does, he is now 2. You may want to put a burp pad underneath his waist in case he does leak out. It will save your sheets.

I had that problem with my son, the only thing I could think to do was buy a size bigger in diapers for him to wear at night. That way they go up farther and are more absorbant. Give it a try.

Try a different size of diaper or a different brand. Also, when you put his diaper on make sure he's "pointing down," towards his legs and not his tummy..

Try some different brands. Every baby is different. Also, you may want to try the night time diapers, there are a few brands that have them and they hold a lot more.
