i was a teen babysitting...my own sibblings. i was forced to watch my baby sister every day (even weekends) without being paid, and i never got to go out with my friends. i wouldnt mind babysitting if it wasnt so that my mom could go to bars and to her friends houses. what is your opnion on teens being responsible for their younger sibblings when its not really their responsibility?

my opnion, parents make their teens take responsiblity for their babies but dont want teens to have children of their own even after they have reassured them that they are capable of taking care of one. I hated my mother for making my spend my entire teen years at home babysitting, even after i got my car (that my boyfriend {now husband} bought me, not my parents) she wouldnt let me take my sister to the movies, the park, or anywhere for that matter. now that im out of the house and on my own she has actually made my brothers girlfriend babysit or she threatened to turn her in for having sex with my bro.

he's not even aloud to watch the tv at wal*mart. is this good, or just crazy? their church believes that tv's are evil. (united pentecostal). my cousin is 15, hasn't watched tv since sesame street when we were 5. (i'm 15 too, and enjoy the occasional 30 minute show between school and sports practice).

I babysit for a 9 year old girl every so often, and we get on really well until it's time for her to go to bed. She gets stroppy and rude, and procrastinates and refuses to go up. The trouble is, I don't particularly want to be too domineering, because I enjoy the relationship we have the rest of the time - and besides, it's slightly different when it's not your child! Does anyone have any ideas?

sexually, physically, and verbally when she was younger by her aprents and uncles and mom's many boyfriends. the police took her away from her parents and placed her in a shelter where the treatment she got was not much different. since then she's been adopted and is now in a loving family. she's been raped numerous times and beaten without mercy. her mom was a prostitute and her dad a druggie. now she's in a nice loving family and we are friends and sometimes she tells me what she feels inside and how much she hurts. she hears the rumors about how abused kids become abusive parents, and she's scared about when she gets older and when she has kids of her own, and she's also scared of boys and wonders if any man will ever want her. we are both 15. when she asks me questions like these, i really don't know what to say, what should i tell her?

how do you know a guy likes you? i'm not all that pretty (like at all, i got glasses and zits). but there's this boy i like. he's not very popular, tall and lanky, plays the trombone. but very outgoing. we';re friends, and he always chooses to be next to me and puts me on his team (when we're playing sports with the other teenagers). and all, but how do i know if he likes me. please don't be sarcastic or say "just ask him". i'm 15 and he's almost `15, but he looks 16.

Is it possible to just get a work assignment and get started without the neurotic game of "what's the deadline" and postponing until you have to start? Does school ruin people because it teaches us to play this game, instead of just shifting priorities (as needed) and then just starting in with good effort when we are handed a new task, rather than playing the time game, which is "Oh, I can postpone until I have to get going"? Does anyone know a way around the "time game" that procrastinators play?

Why is it that when teens parents are strict, the kid has sex younger then someone who doesnt have strict parents?

It may not happen for all but I have noticed that my friends who have strict parents have sex sooner but the ones who dont , could care less for it.

pre teens and teen yrs are the years headed towards adulthood.inspite of that alot of adults consider teens as children when theyre arent children anymore.im 32 now,but i remember when i turned 13 i thought i get more respect, but i was still considered a kid at 13,14,15,16 and 17.i tell you it made me so mad because the lifespan is infant, toddler, child and then teenager.so overall teenagers arent children if anything theyre more like adults.adults need to realize they were this age once and put themselves in the youth shoes.

After school grades 1 to 7. Getting up before kids so breakfast to ready and on the table. Making sure teeth are brushed, hair combed, clothes in order and books. After school homework is done, any messes are cleaned up and snack time. Some play time inside or outside. Cook dinner, clean up. kids get clothes ready for next day. Have a snack. Give kids a bath and put on pajama. Are there other parents doing the same thing? Or do the kids do it for themselves? Seems like a kid staying up until 11 pm and getting up at 7 am doesn't get enough sleep and when they wake up maybe too tried to eat breakfast. With kids up until 11 pm than parents, you are up later and still are getting up before or with the kids? I am not saying anyone is doing bad, I really just trying to see what other people are doing and how?

I need to tell my mom that I am dating a guy, my age, my school, nothing out of the ordinary. I have never dated a guy before, I am in 8th grade. It is nothing serious, we have not even kissed or anything. He just puts his arm around me and we talk and stuff. She thinks that I really want to get revenge on him for some weird thing that he did a while ago though. I have no idea how to tell her that I am going out with someone! There are other people going out in my grade and stuff, more serious than me, but I have no clue how to tell her. My mom and I are REALLY close, so I tell her almost everthing, how do I tell her that I am now going out with a guy?

Hi i asked a question heere a few days ago and got some real good answers and i asked this question on another section of this site earlier but since the people here were so helpfulto me the other day, i wanted to ask it here to. its somethign i really want a answer to please.

I'm in a foster home right now and they aren't mean to me but they said they don't want to know anything about what happend before I started staying with them. I tried to talk to my school councelr before but he won't take any time to talk to me and my social worker is too busy. i stopped talking four days ago and no one even noticed that i haven't said a single word. I'm used to being ignored, but it still makes me sad everytime it happens again. When will I stop being sad about it and is there any way to stop ? I'm tired of being such a little kid and needing people. Will i grow out of it?? When i get more mature will it be easier to want to keep to myself? I just want to know that it wont last forever.

I have five daughters. My eleven year old has started to make noises about wearing makeup as several of her 5th grade class mates do so. I personally feel that she's much to young. I started at 17. Please chime in with your point of view and why you feel that way. Please also inlude your age and when you started wearing makeup. If your not allowed to do so, would you let me know why your parent or gaurdian feels that you should be restricted. Thank you.

I keep seeing questions/comments like "look at all the teen pregnancy these days, they're just too stupid to use protection and they shouldn't be having sex."

I'm not disputing that teens are stupid or that they get pregnant. My question is: Out of, say, 1,000 sexually active teens, do more have unplanned pregnancies than per 1,000 sexually active adults?

I am only interested in an answer if you can cite sources. I am having a hard time finding relevant statistics for this online.
