Why is it that when teens parents are strict, the kid has sex younger then someone who doesnt have strict parents?
It may not happen for all but I have noticed that my friends who have strict parents have sex sooner but the ones who dont , could care less for it.

they are trying to prove a point, that they can get around their parents....and they feel they need the love and attention more than kids whose parents are more understanding...

I've observed that it happens whether parents are strict or not. What teens need are opportunities - the less strict parents give them plenty of freedom and opportunities to have sex. So I don't think the strict parents are 'driving kids to sex'; if anything, the permissive parents are letting the kids 'drive themselves' to have sex and giving them the car keys too!

Its an act of rebellion. If the parents are all, You'll have sex when I say so, no ifs ands or buts, that just makes the kid want to do it more, and of coruse they dont care about the sex because it was all about screwing their parents over anyways. You cant keep kids from doing anything, you can just educate them as best you can, let them know what you expect of them as mature young adults, and hope they make good choices. And let them know you love them even if they make bad ones. I guess, let that be a lesson to you when you have kids to be more easy going :p

My parents didnt really care and I still had sex at 16. But needless to say I wasnt a complete screw up. I just think about the time it happend had my parents told me not to go I wouldnt have went and I wouldnt have had sex then.

If your parents are strict, they don't let you do many things. You want to go out and explore the world. If a teenager isn't allowed to do something, then they want to go out and so it even more.

good point. my parents weren't too strict, but they made sure i knew right from wrong. plus my mom got pregnant when she was 17 and always told me about it. I didnt have sex til I was 19

i was like that 2. my mom is very strict and so started having sex at 14. i think it is because i like the challenge. i mean if my mom says i cant do something it makes it funner to do it anyways. i think if my mom gave me the freedom i wouldnt be interested in it.

kids THINK they know everything and dont understand that parents are just trying to protect them and keep them safe .

it is bcz forbidden fruit tempt more than unknown..if parents start saying dont go in there...teens become curious and somehow they end up going there.
