Why is he moving out at 17?
Just tell him you'll be there for him no matter what. Tell him to call frequently. And keep yourself real busy because you're going to miss him.

Just let him know that u r there 4 him, when ever he need u, but remember do not crowd him with a lot of unannounced visits, he may want his space, this does not mean he doesn't care, he does.

Give him support, and be ready if things go bad for him. Support him no matter what. You might just need to leave him old room there!

Wish him well.. let him know your ground rules so you dont become a revolving door or open bank account and let him go.. invite him to dinner once a week or once a month and remind him to call home..

Why is he moving out? He is not of legal age yet.. unless he is going to college or something but still not considered of legal age.. good luck with that.

Support him, tell him that u'll always be there if he ever needs you. By support, I don't mean pay for him, just show him that you will always be there.
