I live in florida...they live in another state, and my fiance, and I are moving there next month, and were talking about getting custody, or vistiation or something. . . I don't want them to be bounced from home to home, but we arent financially stable , we dont have a house, etc....they might be better off in foster care, but i still want to see them, and want them to know we care.

If you have a means of supporting them, ie like a good income, a residence that has room for them to live in. Most states prefer placing foster kids with kin. Check out the requirements with your state "Family Services" office.

I dont know if its the same where you are but here in England the Social services are big on keeping family members together. Even if that just means visitation rights. If your sisters are happy where they are would it not be better just to have regular contact until you can provide a more stable environment? At least this way they arent being dragged form pillar to post but still have your love and support. I would suggest you dont tell them of your plans to adopt just yet in case they get there hopes up and it doesnt work out. Ring the authorities and find out what you can do. I wish you luck and am sorry you have all had a rough time x

It's admirable that you want to have them with you but I don't think it's wise (not right now, anyways). It sounds like your not yet stable and although your heart is in the right place, I suggest you wait. For the time being request visitation to see them and make the most out of it.
It will be difficult to leave them there but it's for their best interest, for now. You have to be financially stable enough and emotionally able to care for your children plus your sisters. After you have your baby and are stable enough, then you can make a true decision. Don't let the situation they're in, cloud your judgment. As horrible as it may seem, they are now being looked after properly and are out of harms way. They need stability and once you've established this, then you'll all be better off in the long run. Good luck.

If your over 18 and have a way to support them yes you can. The state doesnt want to pay out money for foster care, they want kids with their families. You will need a room for the girls to share, if you have a son now he will need his own room. If you have another boy that boy can share a room with his brother, if you have a girl say the baby will be sleeping in your room for a year and that gives you extra time to get another bedroom if you need one. Also you can ask for temp custody in a emgency hearing and get it. After you have custody of the girls your parents have to give you child support. The courts like it when you can suppose the kids yourself without the help or aid of the state but because your family if you need some help the judge will overlook it.

Yes you can adopt them. If you are financially stable and your background is clean then there should be no problem getting the kids.
The thing is were your moms parental rights terminated or are the kids just taken away from her till she cleans up her act? If they were just taken from her till she cleans up her act and her parental rights were not terminated then it is not possible for you to adopt them unless you convince your mom to sign over her parental rights and if she wont do that the the only thing you can really do is become foster parents for your sisters until your mom is able to take care of them the correct way.

Foster care does not mean they are up for adoption. The parents would have to sign away their rights in order for them to be put up for adoption and you would have to be checked out to see if you can provide a stable home.
If you are 23 and you want them living with you..why were they put into foster care?

I would check with your state. Most cases as long as you are in a stable environment and everything is good then the state prefers kids to be with family instead of the system. Good luck and god bless you. Congrats on the second pregnancy and being willing to take your sisters in. that isn't an easy thing to do.

I think you probably could at LEAST get visitation rights. If you're financially unstable, yeah, they probably wouldn't allow you to adopt them until that's taken care of, but generally, they like allowing children to have contact with family as long as the family members aren't harmful to the children.
Contact their social worker, or an attorney who practices family law.

ok if your moving there and can get a house, then yes you can adopt them. even if your financially unable to, im pretty sure the state pays a monthly check. (they do for foster care atleast) and as for visitation rights, without a doubt you should be able to get them...youll just have to go to court first but its not that big of a deal.

I think at a certain age kids can decide who they want to live with. I admire you for wanting to take such responsibility I am almost 23 with no kids I think I would go nuts trying to handle three. But I will tell you if you can show your love for them and proove to the court that you can do this I think you have a good shot!
