Pregnancy & Parenting - 1 August 2007

The little girl audrey is coming over to our house and eating the left over dog food we have for our dogs. Her mom took her to the doctor and the little girl had worms. I know that you can spread worms and its contagious . I dont want my son getting sick with worms how do I say go away or something but say it nicely. And I shouldnt have to tell her not to bring audrey over because if my son was sick I wouldnt bring him around other kids. Please Help!

Its really embarassing happened to hiccup right into the ear of the poor girl at the supermarket checkout yesterday.

I want to start my baby on whole milk. She is 2 weeks away from being one year old. I have heard that you are not suppose to give whole milk to a baby until their 1st birthday but....can 2 weeks really make a diffrence?

I would also like to know if any of you started your baby on whole milk before their 1st Birthday.

Hi everyone, Im in my 38th week of pregnancy. I barely got much sleep last night and woke up early today with a surge of energy. I have been trying to think of what I can clean or what housework I can do but I have done a lot of it already so i cant think of very much to do although I feel like doing it. Is this the "nesting" stage? If so, is this nesting the same even if you dont end up cleaning since you dont have anything much to clean although you want to? Thanks!

carry out the procedure? Is it the OB or will the family doctor or somebody else do it? Do they medicate the baby or apply some kind of topical pain meds? Is it hard to take care of afterwards? How long till it heals? Does it hurt him bad and bother him afterwards?

So I kind of new I was pregnant since June but I didn't take the test until a couple of days ago. My boyfriend and I decided we are going to keep this child. The only problem I am scared about is that I have been smoking and I quit last night, but how is this going to affect my baby? WIll any harm be done?

Also, I do not know how to tell my mom. There is so much going on with my grandmom (just found out she has cancer) and a family friend passed away! I am only 20 years old and I know it is a big step to do this, but .. ahh I don't know!! Someone just please give advice, it would really be appreciated!

im six weeks pregnet and one of my fears is when its time i have a hart problom accute stress cardiomyopahy (in other words too much stress can stop my hart) can i choose to have a c-section instead of naturol birth i have not seen a doctor yet i go this week but i want to know if there is anything i can do to lessen the stress to my hart during the birth also becouse i cant have any drugs that whould speed your hart rat up is there any thing that thay could give me that i need to make shur thay dont !

I am 5 weeks 4 days pregnant, woke up this morning to a really heavy bleeding with small blood clots, when to hospital and they said pregnancy sack is still there but couldn't see any baby or heart beat, she sent me home and told be to come back if anymore bleeding! had anyone had this happen and still gone full term or has had this happen and gone on to have a miscarriage, would rather know the truth so I don't get my hopes up, because the witing is killing me.

and pain at the bottom of my pelvis. This is my first pregnancy and over the last 2 days this pressure has gotton stronger. i lost my plug 2 1/2 weeks ago and i don't know what i should do. I don't want to bother my OB for nothing. i just can't sleep or get comfortable in any position. It will release for a little bit if i change position from lying down to standing but it comes back. The pain is also going down the joint where my hip and my pelvis are joined. What should I do?
