Yes, I have two children and I gave them milk before a year old. My daughter was off formula at 8 months and taking whole milk. My son took longer, plus he was early. He was off formula at 11 months, but he could only handle 2%. People told me the same thing, I figured our grandparents didn't have formula and they are okay. So It's up to you and what you think.

I waited until 14 months...
*but my husband has a dairy intolerance. We had been letting her have yogurt since 11 months, and grandma slipped her some real ice cream the week of her first bday (4 yr old cousin snitched on grandma!)
If there is no family history of food allergies, particularly dairy, then I don't think 2 weeks will really matter.
I would start by just giving her a few ounces in a sippy when she's having solids to see how she likes it. If she does, they just keep doing that - even in a bottle if she prefers.
If she doesn't like the taste maybe diluting the bottle/sippy 3/4breastmilk or formula and 1/4 cow's milk then a few days later 50/50...

Some doctors say you can start as young as 10 months. I don't plan on starting that early but I seriously don't think 2 weeks early is a big deal. I was told to start giving it to them 1/2 milk and 1/2 formula for a few days then gradually decrease the formula. You could also just try giving her a little in a bottle and see if she likes it. Good luck!

Seems like I did try her on a little right before her birthday just to see if she liked it. After her ped o.k. at 1 year check-up I started mixing her bottles half formula and half milk, adding a little more milk each time till it was all milk. She was still taking bottles for naps and before bed and the rest of the time it was in a cup.

No, 2 weeks don't make a difference. Go ahead and try it! Your child may refuse to drink it at first ( different taste) but he/she will adapt. Ask your doctor to be on the safe side. Although he/she has to drink whole milk sooner or later right?

I did because he stopped drinking the other milk, so my doctor told me to start him on whole milk when he was 10 months old.

Ask your pediatrician, not the hacks on Yahoo Answers. This is your baby.
Thanks.
