So I'm like 13 or 17 weeks pregnant and my last appointment was 5 weeks ago. So at the time they said I was 8 weeks pregnant and I heard the heartbeat and all that. Now that I'm further along 13 weeks, they're thinking I'm 4 weeks farther than that, 17 weeks. This time I didn't hear the heartbeat, but last time I did.......Has anyone else had this problem?

I feel real confortable with him in the room, I am nursing so he still wakes up at night, I don't really want him to be in another room but my husband thinks it's a good idea ( he is running out of room in his cradle)what about putting the crib in the room, is that a bad idea.

I have a 14 mo. old girl who just will not hold her bottle (she's done it twice for Daddy, but not for me) or lay down on the floor and hold it herself. She, too, will not try a sippie cup. I think that she just doesn't understand it. I have tried Playtex and Gerber so far with soft spouts and she won't even have it in her mouth for two seconds without pushing it away. I think that she doesn't understand that you have to suck, like you are drinking out of a straw, and get easily frustrated. What should I do? Shouldn't she be weaned from the bottle by now, or at least begin weaning? Her next pediatrician appointment isn't until Nov. 7th. I plan on asking then, too. Thank you.

going home. They have been together for approx the past three years in foster care...and it's time for one of them to go home. The judge will make the ruling in the a.m. Right now, they don't see much of each other due to the fact that one has been on overnight visits more and more. Just one of the phases of reunificaiton fostering.

Any suggestions would be great...both kids are 4 years old...and they really don't understand why their life is like it is...they think "visiting mommy" twice a week is normal and that every child lives like this.

We still get to have contact with him, as his bio mommy and I have developed a relationship...she has agreed to let me have him spend the night, come over for play dates etc...which we think is great.

I was just wondering how other people felt on this one. Is it a make or break point? Do you honestly think the absense of sex would really become that great of an issue?

My 12 month old baby HATES riding in the car. He started in an infant-carrier style seat. We then switched him to a more comfortable rear-facing seat. Recently, we turned that same seat around to be forward facing. We've tried giving him toys, a sipee cup, putting a mirror on the seat he faces. It doesn't matter if the trip is for 5 minutes or 45 minutes. He starts screaming the second he realizes that we are putting him in his car seat. He gets so upset that he gets red splotches all over his face and he throws up. Sometimes, we can entertain him by playing peekaboo or giving him Cheerios, but this only keeps him calm for a few minutes. My mother-in-law suggested that he may have motion sickness.

Is there anything that we can do to make riding in the car less of a nightmare?

I'm trying to conceive, but I'm also trying to lose about 10-15 pounds before I do. If I do become pregnant before this happens I will immediately stop trying to lose the weight. Any suggestions on losing the weight and exercise routines that I could possibly keep up once I am pregnant.

husband does contract work in Atlanta, GA for a company based in Washington. This new insurance company doesn't have any providers contracted in GA. Therefore, the insurance will only cover 50 % of my maternity needs. I am not working right now. My husband's makes decent money, but we are still going to have a really tough time coming up with the money for this. We will have to pay a total of about $3000 or so. Does anyone know where we could get some help? Or would it be wrong of me to ask for small donations? I normally would never do this---ask for money, but I just don't know how we are going to come up with that by January which is when our baby is due. Thanks to everyone who reads this.

He is in a wheelchair and I don't think he can keep up with all the normal children. He doesn't even have a wheelchair appropriate costume.

This is totally hypethetical but I'm going to ask it anyway:

It's between your child and 10,000 orphans.

You have to choose between saving your child or all 10,000 orphans.

Whoever you choose not to save will be killed.

If you choose to save you're child, then the orphans will all be put to death.

However, if you choose to save the 10,000 orphans not only will their lives be saved but each and every one of them will be promised a family and will be adopted the next day.

So, who would you save?

Hi,I am looking for some opinions of parents with kids that have PDDs.Based on personal experience what do you find are the best activities and/or toys for an autistic child aged 2 1/2 years old?
He is already in early intervention services and I know that every child is different but I am not looking for professional opinions, just a few things parents have done with their children that they have found to be successful for them. Thanks in advance!

A few days after my bf and I had sex I had a little bit of cramping that I have never experienced before. I am on the pill and was at the end of my second week of pills. I went to the doctor's the other day to get my yearly pap done and when I was done and on my way home again I had cramps, which i haven't experience after a pap before. I am not sure what to make of the whole situation

My son is 7 years old and in second grade. I picked him up a copy of The Little Prince yesterday. My wife thinks it is wrong to make him read it for his daily reading. She thinks it might be beyond him.

I made two points to her; one being that I read that book at that age and that even if it is a harder book than he is used to, it would be a great learning experience.

Do you think this is too much book for a second grader?
Or, more generally; it is good to push tough books on kids and help them through the hard words, or does it backfire?

Please note: He already reads at an advanced level (3rd - 4th grade).

My three year old daughter has been potty trained for quite some time now. However, she still cannot stay dry through the night. She even goes potty right before bed. We leave a night light in the hallway and the bathroom. I told that if she wakes up and has to go, she can.We have tried to go with the underwear , but she ends up wet. So she is still wearing diapers at night. How can we get her to learn to stay dry?
