I had that problem at 20 weeks and they sent me to have an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. Did they even check you? If they checked and didn't hear it, then they should have been concerned. Your baby is probably in a strange position. That was the case with mine.

Its not weird at all. Being able to hear the heartbeat via the doppler depends on baby's position. I wouldn't be concerned about it especially if your MD isn't concerned. I never heard the baby's heart beat via doppler until about 19 weeks of my pregnancy. However, I do suggest you request an ultrasound to get a more accurate picture of your due date, and also an ultrasound will relieve alot of your anxiety. Congrats and good luck with the pregnancy.

That is not at all weird. Whether or not you hear the heartbeat depends alot on the positioning of the baby at this time. As you get further along and the baby gets bigger, you will hear it more often then not. No worries.

If your doctor wasn't concerned I wouldn't be. The baby is still very small, sometimes they just aren't positioned where you can hear it. This happened to me early in one of my pregnancy's, but the doctor did a brief ultrasound and we could see the heartbeat even though we couldn't hear it. Just talk to your doctor.

On my 16 week visit we couldn't hear my babys heartbeat because he was moving around too much.

it just means you're baby is in a difficult position to detect the heartbeat. believe it or not, even with all the updated technology we have these days, not everything is possible. your baby is human just like you and can be pretty stubborn and rebellious even in it's womb.
