This is totally hypethetical but I'm going to ask it anyway:

It's between your child and 10,000 orphans.

You have to choose between saving your child or all 10,000 orphans.

Whoever you choose not to save will be killed.

If you choose to save you're child, then the orphans will all be put to death.

However, if you choose to save the 10,000 orphans not only will their lives be saved but each and every one of them will be promised a family and will be adopted the next day.

So, who would you save?

Just in case you're wondering, I too would save the orphans. I realize it's your flesh and blood that you would be allowing to die but I think when my child got to heaven he'd realize what happened and be happy that he died that way (saving thousands of lives) rather than dying of old age not saving anyone.

I'd save the orphans. I know it might sound bad, but even God killed own His son to save others.

My choice would be to save both my child and the orphans. There is no way that I choose one over the other, though my child would come first, then the orphans.

My child, hands down.

It would kill me inside to make that choice, but, the bottom line is that is my child, given to me by God, he is my blood.
Those orphans are all somebodies child. I know they will all go to heaven, which is a lot better than here, but I couldn't chose the death of my child.
Christ died for us to live, not in vain, so I wouldn't sacrafice my child with the analogy that God did it, so should I. God is the all mighty father, I am just a fleshful human, I can't fill his shoes, nor would I ever try.

I would have to save my child. It is my duty. They are my life.

Yeah Jesus died for us.......So if you are walking in Jesus footsteps, u would want to be like him, so you would rather the people to take your life for your child and for the others.....Jesus is the one that died for his children, which is us....So I wouldn't say that I would pick my child, and I would not pick the orphans, I would choose me!!!! But all in reality, I don't think that you would have to make a decision like choosing your child or 10,000 orphans.......Thank God!!!!

Modelicious, you are not looking for an answer, you are looking for an opinion...

Some people may say that they may sacrifice their child for the sake of 10,000 orphans.

Our human insticts though say different things. At this very moment many of us are actually able to help 10,000 of orphans (by making modest sacrifices) but we don't do it.

Personally, I don't have children yet, but if I had, I would never sacrifice my child to save someone else. It's just human nature!

I'd save my own child. My responsibility is to my child. If it was someone elses child and 10,000 orphans then the orphans win.

Since either way you are going to feel terrible, I choose my child. I would feel bad for the orphans, but at least I would have some joy that my child is still alive. To me the answer is simple.

I bet the person who is asking this question does not have children, because if you had children, you would realize that you would do anything for that child, even give your own life. Its naturally embedded in each one of us to preserve the lives of our own children. And if you answered that you would save the orphans, I would like to see you in that situation, b/c I honestly think you would decide to save your child. I think people who do not have children themselves are not qualified to answer this question.

I LOVE my son very much, he's been in my life for two and half years. If I were forced to decide between my baby and a million other children whom I don't know, I'd rather have my son. It's really not my problem what happens to those kids, it's also not my problem why those mothers keep having babies in the first place if the moms' can't support them. I really would and gladly adopt a baby or two if I could. But I wouldn't be qualified to be their mother (financially). Other than that; I'll keep my baby thanx.

Actually, this is closer to reality than most people think.

Right now....at this very second....there are parents that have a limited amount of food. They have to make a decision...

Do I give a very small amount to each of my children and hope that it is enough for them to get by until I can get more food, or do I give a sufficient amount to a few so that I'm sure they survive and deny the others knowing they may die?

Sound harsh? You bet.
But, people around the world do it...everyday.

I saw it in Africa.

I NEVER take for granted what we have in America....and you can be sure my children won't either.

That is not an easy question but I would have to say find the loop hole get your parents to adopt your child, sign over your parental rights so then you have no child to kill and then save the 10,000 children.
