Pregnancy & Parenting - 27 July 2006

My daughter's father passed away on Saturday. I don't know how to tell her because she doesn't understand death. She has never lost anything, not even a pet. Can anyone suggest how I might try and make her understand the best her 3 year old brain can what happened and why she won't see her dad anymore. She would only see him a few times a month due to his irresponsibility and other reasons but they would talk on the phone a lot. Now she is asking for him and I do not know what to tell her. He lived with his parents so do you think I let her go to see them or do you think that will be to confusing since he will no longer be there.

My two-year old hasn't used apacifier during the day since she was 13 months old, but still insists on taking one to bed at night. Any suggestions regarding how I can encourage her to give it up would be much appreciated.

that was two weeks ago. she has been plagued by nausea, headaches and fatigue ever since. her doctor said it may be a reaction to either her birth control or the antibiotic that they gave her to avoid infection. anyone have an experience like this?

I had my 37 week check up today, and he said the baby is low and head down "could be any time," but without knowing anything else, how can he say that?

I've only had my cat for a year but it has grown into my family it was my sons favorite. He went to bed everynite with her. She was expecting her first litter any day now. Yesterday I couldn't find her inside so I went outside (she stays inside) I found her hiding and when I got her out she was bleeding out her neck. The vet said a large dog had attacked her she was in shock her babies died and later her being partly brain dead I put her to sleep. I'm so sad and my son who is 3 doesn't understand why is cat is coming home, please help with advice.

So I am 23 and I am taking about 9 units (3 classes) per semester.

I go to college part time because I work 40 hours a week.

I have another 2.5 years left, I will graduate when I am 25.5 years old.

My husband and I planned to start a family next year. We have been together for 5 years.

I was planning on not going to school anymore so I can have children.

Now people are telling me that I will regret leaving college.

But I don’t want to have children and go to school at night.

And I can’t quit my job to go to school full time, and I LOVE my job and I don’t want to leave.

I can’t work part time.

We own a house that will be paid off in a year, and we don’t need a large income.

We make about $70,000 a year together.

I am devastated that if I continue college, I will have to wait another 3 years to have a baby.

I want to relax and enjoy life, but college and work stress me out to where I want to cry.

What do I do?

The reason I ask is because i have a 9 year old daughter and I've begun noticing that she's having mood swings. If things go her way she's a great person to be around but if they don't she has a attitude. I started noticing when i tell her to do things or ask her to do things I hear the huffs and puffs. (she does the same with her dad). You can't say anything critical to her because she takes everything so personal. She's interested in boys now and talks on the phone with her friends. i even notice her gossiping. Now if she was 13 or 14 i would know that this is regular behavior for a teenager, but I can't remember being this way at 9. I was telling a co-worker of mine that Im finding it harder to have something nice to say to my 9 year old but its like my 2 year old is GREAT. and she's a terror (terrible two). I need some help on understanding if there is a pre puberty stage that kids go through or what?

I've heard lately tat it's been discovered you can choose your baby's sex? I think it's very wrong~~ don't go against Nature~ I think it's only acceptable if you had like 3 daughters...then you can maybe choose the sex of a boy~

And I will get a pregancy test if I'm late. My husband and I had sex much more than usual this month. My boobs are usually sore for 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before my period. I'm supposed to start tomorrow, my boobs are swollen more than normal and only since yesterday at all. I've had more headaches and worse acne than normal but I'm not cranky or sick and my nipples are not sensitive. Could it be? My husband and I have just recently decided NOT to try to have kids and let what happens happens. What'dya think?

i was driving yesterday and putting on my make up while talking to my ex.bf and soon to be father of my child we were arguing and i was pulled over for going 65 in a 35 mile zone i was late to my doctors appointment and have been really stressed. i got into a fight to the police officer and smacked him with my purse not hard though and started screaming and crying threw a fit basically. does pregnancy help me out in court i have to go next week and i am nervous? i now have a speeding ticket, reckless driving fine, and assault on a police officer. do you think i can get some off this lowered or dropped?

I am 35 weeks pregnant with my first child. I think my mucucs plug fell out last night. It was all bloody and looked like cottage cheese. I tried to call my doctor but she is out of the office today and Friday. They said that they would try to contact a mid-wife. I called around 11:00am. I still have not heard from them and it is almost 3:00pm. What should I do? I started to feel some pain and pressure around noon, but it went away and I have not felt it since. I am nervous as to how my baby's health will be. I am already on matirnity leave. I just want my baby to be healthy. Can you give me some advice on what I should do? Am I going into labour. And will my baby be premature.
