i was driving yesterday and putting on my make up while talking to my ex.bf and soon to be father of my child we were arguing and i was pulled over for going 65 in a 35 mile zone i was late to my doctors appointment and have been really stressed. i got into a fight to the police officer and smacked him with my purse not hard though and started screaming and crying threw a fit basically. does pregnancy help me out in court i have to go next week and i am nervous? i now have a speeding ticket, reckless driving fine, and assault on a police officer. do you think i can get some off this lowered or dropped?

Hopefully not.

Being pg does not excuse you from obeying the law or driving in a safe manner. Glad I wasn't on the road near you.

It sounds like you would need a lawyer. I would try to contact the officer through the Watch Commander. It would be in your favour to offer a letter of apology to the officer for letting loose on him and now wasting possibly, the time of the Courts as well. There is a time during pregnancy that your hormones are not the same as you usually are. Contact a Lawyer first for a free consultation before admitting anything on paper. Good luck and hope you don't need it. During the time you are in the car you must concentrate on the road and traffic, no Phone, makeup or what have you. Driving is a privilege not a Wright.

Well, it really sounds like you didn't handle the situation too well. You should really drive more carefully while pregnant, and try to avoid stress!
But hell, I'd plea to the judge as best you can!! You've been hormonally unbalanced with your pregnancy, your ex has been verbally abusive, and you were worried and late for your IMPORTANT doctor's appointment. Plus, on top of it all...the police officer was belligerent and not supportive of your needs as a distraught pregnant woman...for all he knew, you could have been in labor!!
That's the argument I'd use!

no I think that you need to think about everything you just said slowly....Driving 65mph putting on makeup while pregnant..Assault on an officer and reckless driving fine...You threw a fit and you are exactly how old...You need to be punished..That is your child in your belly and you should be very careful...accidents happen...BF shouldn't let you drive look at how you acted yesterday like a kid...Grownups do not act that way...You should have explained yourself in an appropriate manner not throwing a fit.. YES you need a lawyer reckless driving and a speeding ticket 30 mph over will take you r drivers license..

You're an idiot and I highly doubt being pregnant will help you out. You just look like trash to the judge. Oh and of course get a lawyer. Are you even mature enought to be a mother? I dont think so.

No, take your medicine like a man...err, woman. You couldn't control yourself and now you have to pay up, just like anyone else. Don't try to get sympathy like a weak-willed person tries to do. If you are in the wrong, admit to it.

And yes, I agree with your boyfriend not letting you drive if you're going to try to hit a cop and go crazy like this.

Maybe if you go into court and use the same technique on the judge you might be able to get out of it. Or NOT....depending on his mood.

I think the best you can do is explain why you were speeding and why you acted out. sorry, I don't really know what you should do. I don't have much experience with this stuff.

It wasn't a stupid mistake. You're just a stupid person. Are you going to do that with you're kid in the car after your kid is born.
Then they'll take your -***- to jail and some stranger in a uniform will take your kid until the father comes to get him ( unless he's as stupid as you.)
