If it's really bad, she can speak to her doctor and they will prescribe something for her. I had some pills (forgotten the name) that I thought didn't work until I stopped taking them and then I realised how truly horrible I felt. I used to drink a glass of milk at night - it seemed to help. Also, for some reason, sniffing salt & vinegar crisps. There is also a pressure point on your wrist and wearing Seabnds seems to help. I drank gingerbeer, too.
Quite frankly, there is no real help. Morning sickness feels like travel sickness and it varies in degrees. Fresh air can help. Some things never ever to say: It is all in your mind! - I threatened to puke over the next person that said that to me.
Pregnancy isn't a disease.
Can't you just try not to be sick.
Well, it's just a bit of sickness, it will soon pass.
BTW - bad morning sickness indicates a high probabiity of a girl baby.

Unfortunately morning sickness is pretty common and hard to take care of. If she gets it first thing in the morning, have her keep some saltines by the bed and eat them before moving much in the morning, eating saltines at anytime when she is nauseous will also help. Tell her to drink sprite or ginger ale that helps ease the tummy and when she feels sick to just sit and rest. Staying hydrated helps as well. Good luck to her and congratulations to you both.

I tried everything under the sun, was constantly on the net looking for ways to stop it and nothing worked for me. Satsumas were the only thing I found refreshing and it settled my tummy for an hour or so. I had it very, very bad and it didn't stop till week 21. I really hope she gets through it sooner rather than later, it is not nice at all. Giving birth was easier than dealing with sickness, no joke!

Unfortunately, only time will stop the morning sickness. Some things that worked for me were to sip fruit nectar slowly throughout the day, soda crackers and dry cheerios.

If it gets so bad that she is loosing weight, or getting dehydrated she can talk to her dr.

she could try dry biscuits but there is no certain cure for morning sickness,

I had all day sickness, and could nt stand the smell of cooking in the morning especially greasy foods.

It normally only lasts for the first 3 to 4 months though so just be supportive.

Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting". It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

I used to find a cup of weakish tea and ginger biscuits first thing helped a bit. If it's really bad - drink the tea and eat the biscuits slightly propped on your side (don't sit up)... Good luck

As soon as she wakes up, have her eat crackers and water before she even gets out of bed. It will settle her stomache. Morning sickness is mostly caused due to empty stomache in the morning.

Before she sits up in the morning get her to eat some dry crackers or ginger biscuits, (whilst she is laying down) wait 5 then get up. My sister in law swore by the seasickness bands you can buy. Congrats!!
