Pregnancy & Parenting - 22 July 2006

My feet have become increasingly swollen in the last couple of days, I mean really really swollen, they look like two pieces of pork shoulder, I have been resting constantly, even this morning when I woke up they were swollen, should I go to the doctor or what I am 8 1/2 months pregnant?

Bedwetting?

I look after a little girl once a week as part of my babysitting, she is seven. Problem is most nights, she wets the bed. I've told the parents, but nothing has been done. She's too old for nappies, and often doesn't go back to sleep if woken up, and is grumpy as well.
What could I do to help her?

Is a playpen or baby cot better? I can't decide which to buy, any suggestions?

Cot seems to be much more expensive than playpen though and playpen is easier to keep and store when not in use

I'm trying to be like Coralicious with her bizarre questions.
Your walking down the street, someone comes up to you, with a baby and a gun/knife, and tells you that if you dont kill the baby, they will kill you, and your family, and maybe the baby, what do you do?

If your think you're pregnant should you still be trying to conceive?

Is the physical strain on your body and the contractions of your uterus increase your chances of miscarrying if you're two weeks pregnant? I don't want to ruin my chances of being pregnant by trying to concieve after the fact.

17 weeks is this common?

I've only gained like 4pnds and am not really showing yet, so why are my legs and lower back aching sometimes? I thought that only started once you get a big belly and it's further along? 1st pregnancy!!!

help me i feel horrible!?

Last month my period was 9 days late, then i ovulated 5th of july to the But my patner and i had sex on from the 2nd until the 8th or 9th and then again on the 11th or 12th, Then my next period was due on the 19th and didnt come i have the feeling of "knowing" i am preg i have had symptoms like headache,back sore him, slight breast tenerderness breast fullness little weight gain slight stomach cramoing , direaching nauseia, sore teeth, Anyways i work today with stomach cramps when i went to the toilet there was a light pink blood and i have been to the toilet a few times since then and it is just spotting??? and still cramping...and i vomited the morning after i ate toast and tried to take my vitamin tablet, staright after i had ate my toast it come back up, could i be preg i did 2 tests when 5days before my period was due and one the day it was due....whats going on?

Has your child ever innocently said or done something that caused you great embarrassment?

Yesterday my 5 year old son and I were watching our older kids swim at the pool. A cute little black kid was standing in the line for the diving board and my son exclaimed, "Look, Mom! A monkey!" When I realized who he was pointing to, I quickly told him, "No, there's only boys and girls in the pool, silly!"

Of COURSE, the child's mother was sitting two seats away from me. I wanted to crawl under a rock.

She was pretty cool about it, and even laughed to put me at ease. She asked if my son was in day care, and I said no, I'm a stay-home mom. She smiled and assured me that things would get better with time and exposure to other kids. VERY cool woman.

Do you have a story like this? And how did you respond?

do you think my 2 yr old girl has a third eye?

She often tells me stories about "belena"- that he/she is going to heaven to work work.......that balena said bye bye this way and that she would answer back like this. That she sees Balena in school, wore red, smiles at her and has short hair.
sometimes when she's doing something, she would remember balena---and say " just like balena right?" I checked her pre-school, asked her teacher, in fact i attended some of her classes i didn't see any balena..... who is she seing ? or could she have imaginary friends?

How do you know if your newborn suffers from Pyloric stenosis?

I have a 1 month old, who about 2 weeks ago started spitting up .5 to 1oz of his formula, almost every time he eats. He is also constantly hungry, eats about 5oz every 2-3 hours, all day and night long. When he eats, he ravages at the bottle and has not been sleeping well at all, only a few hours in a 24 hours period, 45mins to an hour at a time. If he is down for 2 hours, we are lucky! He just spit up a clear bad smelling liquid, after not eating for about 2 hours when I picked him up from a short nap. I did an ultrasound him him last week, they came up negative, but im still very worried. Is there a tell-tale sign that I can tell if my boy is OK? He seems to be peeing and pooping normally.. but this is my first im not sure what "normal" is.
