Pregnancy & Parenting - 22 July 2006

I am married, 37 and have 2 children. Recently, I have become pregnant, accidentally. Our first two labor and deliverys were agonizing. Both were c-sections, one was an emergency. My daughter suffered a damaged eye. My son was in the NICU for 4 days. Now 11 and 9 they are happy, healthy kids. My husband was very traumatized by these events and vowed after our second child that that was IT. No more kids! So this pregnancy has come as a huge surprise. Although I didn't want any more kids, I feel that we could manage a 3rd. My husband on the other hand is adament about not having a 3rd and has asked me to have an abortion. He feels that the pregnancy and all the worries that go with it (possible birth defects, etc) will put him over the edge. If he goes down we all go down as he puts it. I am confused and could use some advice. I don't think I can go through with an abortion. But I don't want to jeopordize my family either.

My 3 yr old son has problems sleeping because of sounds at night. Most nights he's just fine, but other nights he calls us in for every little sound -cars, neighbors, water running, etc. His biggest fear is the sound of a storm (the wind, rain, thunder). He's not alone in his room he shares with his baby sister. We try to talk to him about most sounds and help him say a prayer to help keep him safe. He sleeps with a night light and has a flashlight by his bed. It works alright, but not for the weather fears. He loves storms during daylight hours, but insists that they scare him at night. We finally just let him sleep on the floor by our bed during storms.

Any suggestions? Is this something that kids just grow out of?

I was on the pill for 6 years and I've been off the pill for over a month and a half. Currently my fiance and I are trying to conceive our first. I was getting cramps on my right side for a few days around the time I would of normally ovulated and when my fiance and I had intercourse it felt extremely different. Could this mean that I was ovulating?

About a few days ago, my boyfriend and I tried to have sex, since I was a virgin, and still kind of am. He went about half way in me and stopped due to the fact he wasnt excited from seeing me in pain. The next day I bleed a little bit, thinking it was my period, since I was late as usual anyways. But it had stopped. I took a pregnancy test, and it was negative. Does any one have any idea what it may be. I don't wish to concern my mother right away with this.

My daughter's 1st birthday party was today and I just finished the impossible task of getting the toys out of their boxes. Why do they do this to us? It took me a half an hour just to undo all the stupid twisty wires on ONE TOY! Does anyone else get frustrated when they do this?

I wouldn't think it's shoplifting prevention, because if I were to steal a toy (not that I would) I would just take the whole box, toy and all, not sit there and take it out of the box! These toys arn't small or anything. I think they would notice if you had a hugr toy under your shirt...lol

Ugh...I only have a kitten and a part time job and there is no way in hell I would have that much time to sit on my computer and answer all those questions. Do you tie your kids up all day so you can play on the computer and earn points? Where do you get the time because I would really like to know.

I'm 18 years old right now, but i have 1 more year of high school to go. My graduating class is 2007. I'm starting to feel bored out a home. I feel as though my parents are running my life even tho im 18. They wont let me have a cell fone, use the internet and even talk to girls because they think its not the time to do so.

I feel really hopeless because i cant do anything about it. I have like limited amount of freedom. I dont even know what is the first thing i have to do if i do leave out of the house. Should i discuss with my parents even though i hate them for how they are running my life?

Do I have to take with my birth certificate, social security, and passport or anything like that? There are so many questions I want to ask but I'm just confused at the moment now. So i was wondering is there any advice anyone can give to me because i really need to make a decision even though it may be right nor wrong. Thank you.

Recently, one of my friends has been going through some really tough stuff. I am m and she is f, we are both 15 and BFFLs. She had a crush on an older friend of mine (19) and they became great friends. SHe told him that she "liked" him, but he didnt like her back. Thier friendship is really on the rocks now. She wanted him to call, and when he did, she got really upset, and one of her other friends told the guy not to call or email for a week. Then he did call after a week, and my BFFL was really upset. on IM he told me she was crying when they hung up, so I called her. I talked to her until 3 in the morning trying to console her. She wanted him to ask what was wrong (its something only between him and her) but he never did. She is on vacation now, and keeps asking me if he mentions her or anything when I talk to him. I dont know what to do. I want to do something nice for my BFFL, because I know she is really upset about it, and I dont like to hear/see her cry. What can I do?
