SHe is 7 months old. Obviously it has to be a hygienic and reputable place. EVERYONE keeps insisting she has her ears pierced as if I am doing her some great dis-service by not piercing them! Sheesh! Anyway, rant over. Back to the question.

I mean OTHER than being a mother. Any women start their own successful companies, have high-flying careers, travel around the world, write a book, direct a film, build an orphanage in India?

Real people that you know please, not celebrities.

I want to know if it is possible to still do something worthwhile and meaningful with your life if you have kids; other than be a mother obviously which is worthwhile, but is not the only worthwhile thing in life.

I have loads of things that I want to do with my life and I want to know if I have to give up all my hopes and dreams to meet my boyfriend's dream of having a family. I want him to live his dreams, but I think mine are important too.

My mother-in law is convinced that my daughter needs to be started on solid foods because she thinks "the formula isn't satisfying her," but she's eating exactly the amount she's supposed to and she's gaining weight at the rate she's supposed to. I feed her on demand, so whenever she cries for food, I give it to her, and I stop feeding when she acts like she's done. It just happened that we were at my mother-in-law's house on a day when she wanted 2 oz meals every 2 hours for a while, and now she's convinced that she's not satisfied because "she only waited a couple of hours before wanting more." She's only 7 weeks old, which I think is way too early for solids, and based on the amount she's eating and her weight gain, she really doesn't need it. I've explained all this to my mother-in-law, and each time it seems like she accepts it, but then the next time I see her, she brings it up again. What can I do to get her to stop bugging me about it?

We try to put her in bed but she just screams and screams. Most babies scream themselves out after a few minutes but our little girls a fighter.
Obviously, a 9month old doesn't understand a spanking and barely understands "No", so what else is there? Is my daughter just spoiled or are all babies like this?

I might add she has a 12month old 4x4, but feels I should change my car for people carrier or estate.
Do you need two big cars for one little baby? Is there anything wrong with still owning a 2 seater and having a baby? Am I being selfish?
