I was pretty worried about the pain before giving birth to my son. What worried me the most was the episiotomy that they told me I'd have to have cause I'm too small... Anyway, I had some pretty severe pains that were like terrible period cramps that seem to shoot from my back to the bottom of my belly. I didn't take any medications or pain killers... and in the end I'm very proud that I didn't. The pushing actually felt good because it relieved alot of the pressure from the baby trying to come out. Everyone is different... for me the olny painful part was the contractions... the actual delivery felt good because I was focusing on pushing and got rid of the pains... I think it's nature's way of encouraging... But in all honesty evrything I just said is an approximate description because I swear I can't remember any of the pain!!! I read that this too is nature's way of making you forget the pain so that you are encouraged to have more children... go figure!!!

I enjoyed every moment of being pregnant. I wish I could be pregnant forever. It is so wonderful and beautiful. The experience is different for everyone, but everyone I know says that it was worth it...and I absolutely agree. There is nothing in the world like feeling your child move inside your belly and watching your belly grow. As for labor and delivery, that wasn't bad either. I took it with a grain of salt, I had to do it, why stress and panic about it? I thought of it as I did everything else I had to do...I had to pee everyday, I had to eat, go to work, sleep, and give birth. It was not bad at all. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I know most people don't believe that you can be as easy going about labor and delivery as I was...but I honestly was, and I'm so glad. It really made things A LOT easier. The more you stress, panic and worry, the worse it's going to be. Try to relax, and picture yourself going through it. Do you want to be freaking out while your bringing your beautiful baby into the world? Probably not.
Try to stay as calm about it as you can, and when you begin to have contraction pain that is too uncomfortable to you ask the doctor for an epidural. It will help take a way the pain, and it will also help you relax and move your labor along faster. If you want to try to go natural...go for it. I waited as long as I could for the epidural because I wanted to go without, but it just didn't happen...and that's OK.
Remember that every woman, pregnancy, labor, and delivery is diferent. Talk to your doctor and ask all of the questions you have...you'll feel better and more prepared.
I wish you peace, luck, health, and happieness.
Good Luck!!

Like every pregnancy, each birth is different. I was lucky in that my labor lasted 30 minutes for the first one and 45 for the second one. Yes it does hurt, but there are drugs that can help relieve this pain. But the labor is worse than the actual delivery. When you get to the bearing down stage, it feels like you are trying to take a giant B.M.And I am sure you will get through it just fine. Don't try to fight the pain, just go with it, and it will soon be over.

It depends on which way you give birth.
Cesarean doesn't hurt, because you are numb from the waist down, it's the recovery that hurts, lifting, walking etc.
Natural can hurt if it's a big baby, or in a difficult position.
But there are all kinds of things you can use as pain relief. The gas, pethidine and epidural......
If you have an epidural, you pretty much feel nothing, as the lower half is numb.
So the choice is yours. It depends on your level of tolerance to pain.
I only used the gas for both of my children and worked for me.

Giving birth is extremely painful. It hurts so bad, you will begin to wonder if you are going to die.
At first It feels like a bad period pain, by the end of it you will be begging the midwife and/or nurse to kill you.
It is seriously a very cruel torture our body puts us thru.
I recommend you do not get the labor induced and do not let them break the water. It makes the labor even more painful. Also I recommend choosing a good pain relief drug. I have been told epidural works well but its dangerous so i would never use it.
Good luck!

The contractions are the worst possible pain known to a human being. The pushing can be damn hard or relatively quick - but never without pain. But if you have a good strong midwife/aide that will take no crap and tell you to PUSH like there is going to be no ******* tomorrow and to ******* well push hard and to ******* well push for both you and the baby's sake (with or without drugs) well - believe me - you, being a woman, will find this OUT - OF - THIS - WORLD - STRENGTH and you will bloody push...... Yes it is HELL....Yes it will hurt..... But the moment they put that miracle baby in your arms - TIME WILL STAND STILL AND THERE WILL BE NO PAIN JUST ABSOLUTE RELEIF AND BEAUTIFUL EXHAUSTING LOVE..... Only a woman can tell you this - only a mother who has delivered vaginally will tell you this... You will feel like superwoman - and feel such LOVE at the same time towards this miracle that YOU have just made... Good luck, and GO GIRL!!!!

try not to think about it very much, look, it's gonna hurt, but once the baby's head comes out, you'll forget you had anything to do with it :) the most hurtful part is the contractions, the delivery itself doesn't hurt, during delivery, all you have to do is push like you are "shitting" in constipation! meaning, you don't breath during pushes, hold your breath for ten seconds for every push, it's the fastest way to get it over with, be as much cooperative as you can be. you can always ask for the epidural shot (for the labor pain during contractions), it will relieve you immensely, as for during contractions, try to lie down, or even walk, whatever relieves you best, and try not to drink water, breathe deeply, relax. the pain will mainly be in the lowest part of the abdomin, and in the lowest of the back, it will start off mild then it will intensify gradually, so dont worry, you'll brace yourself for the upcoming pain every passing minute, and if your water broke, head for the hospital :)

It will hurt less than having your appendix removed with no anesthetic and slightly more than having every hair on your body plucked out with tweezers for about 15-20 hours straight.
It is painful. I cannot lie. The good thing is after it is over you forget how painful it even was. You are so happy you don't even care.

I won't lie to you it hurt...but every woman is different. Let a few contractions pass, and see how it is...you may be able to handle the pain...or don't be a hero (like me) and ask for an epidural..it really takes the edge off the pain

OMG honey, it's the most excruciating pain especially after you water breaks, but an epidural works wonders!! After it's all over and holding that beautiful baby that you created in your arms, you'll be thinking, all that pain was so worth it!!
