For those who don't know, Michigan is in a slump. Our economy is a shambles. During her first term, Democratic governor Jennifer Granholm blamed Michigan's problems on former governor Republican John Engler. However, after 3-4 years, the economic policies of leaders begin to show. Michigan's economy has gone from "bad" to "worse." Our unemployment (over 7%) is now the highest in the nation. While Granholm brags about bringing in 2,000 or 3,000 jobs, nearly (or over... I'm not sure now) 300,000 Michigan residents are unemployed. Over 35,000 people have LEFT Michigan (including some good friends of mine) to find employment in other states... Granholm's response? Blame Bush... That doesn't fly with me... The whole country would be doing badly if he was responsible... So my question... Will the economic policies of Hillary or Obama, or Mr. "$400 haircut" John Edwards hurt the nation just as much? Or more? Is Granholm's recession a sign of things to come?

Should we worry about Alquiada in Pakistan with all those nukes

Should we worry about a full out civil war spilling into the entire region

Should we worr about Indian Pakistan border and disputed areas around that(India has nukes as well)

How much of an implication, cause or symptom is Pakistan for the region and the world ?

can we say the Republicans are doing a good job on the war on terror?

We have invested MILLIONS in Pakistan and yet they've never helped us capture/kill Bib laden. Now they are pulling major moves in Pakistan.

To me, it's pretty obivious that we've given Bush EVERY tool he's needed to succeed yet he still fails. And somehow, people lean to Republicans to be "tough on terror," what a joke in light of the facts. It's the opposite, they've lost this war, and it won't be won until we get a Democrat for president.

Why not treat each the same? Why kill a tiger and not a human for the same crime?

(Jews, Athiests, Muslims, Buddhists, etc.) he wouldn't answer the question. Every Christian I know says you must accept Jesus as you savior you will not go to Heaven. If Huckabee is truly a man of faith, why did he not answer? Is he politicing?

Isn't this freeze on the increase, going to raise taxes for the middle class?

I mean, the increase is on how much you have to make before they slam you with the AMT, right?

I know I probably wont get a very scientific answer here but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Will Democrats vote in the primaries with the candidate they feel is best qualified to beat the Republican candiadate in mind?

Could that mean Edwrads is still in the running to end up in first or second place in Iowa?

I mean seriously;
Hillary? Big-time trust issues
Obama? Charismatic, no experience
Edwards? Pretty boy
McCain? That horse has already run and lost
Ron Paul? Good ideas, too Ross Perot
etc.

Michigan November unemployment rate is 7.4%, second highest is Alaska at 6.4%. Michigan's female Canadian democrat governor's solution was to raise taxes a few months ago. Only 2 states showed a decrease in population, Michigan and Rhode Island.

Is it all Bush's fault? Will a democrat president make things better for Michigan?

Here's my source for the unemployment rates:

I am asking this because I was just reported for daring to question the validity of the Kennebunkport report. So much for the freedom of speech that others(including the poser of the question) profess to love and stand up for! How many others have run across this?

The way I see it, if you throw billions of people together, which today's world has like never before, aren't we bound to run into conflict. Eventually, once we get used to each other and work out certains areas of concern, won't the world just calm down? On a much smaller scale, it is like merging two highschools. There's different school colors, teachers, schedules, classes offered, etc. But eventually, things calm down after a while. Now muliply that analogy to the world's scale. The merging process will take longer given the shear size of the world, but won't it work out the same. Sure, we are talking deaths instead of lunchyard fights. However, once this era of globalization is over, aren't we looking at a Golden Age? The 3rd world nations will catch up to the first world, there will be more ideas to build off each other, and resources will be introduced for new products given the new world market.
