No I don't agree, their are plenty other religious factions that hate the U.S. They just don't have the resources and backing that most Islamic factions do. Islam is just as violent as Christianity. How many wars were started in the name of Christ, and to spread the gospel of Christ. Countless. Do not down a whole religion and faith because of a few nuts. All faiths have them.

It is a war against a virulent, bastardized form of Islam. The problem is that many Muslims are afraid to speak out against it for many reasons. However, it is imperative that moderate Muslims speak out and defend their religion from those evil zealots that have twisted it into a form of fascism. Until that happens, many innocent people of all faiths will loose precious lives and treasure. This is an historic turning point in Islam. Will it be a religion of life or a religion of death as the terrorists declare? The President describe the Axis of Evil as Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and North Korea. There has been no change to the policy of dealing with all four. Afghanistan and Iraq are being dealt with. Iran will probably be dealt with next although what form it will take is not clear. North Korea has been restrained by the Chinese but is still a menace as long as Kim Jung Il is in charge. .

Nay, the war against terrorism is "the war against terrorism". No, I do not agree Bush is the biggest terrorist ever, though I disagree with many of his decisions. When you say ever, do you exclude Bin Ladin, Saddam?
What about the invasion of illegal aliens? Isn't that a type of terrorism launched and sustained by greedy, money loving business? Terrorism threatens a nation's safety and security, in all areas of life.

While certainly not being a straight "war against terrorists" I don't think it's even as clear cut as being a straight war on Islam either. It certainly appears to be centered around alienation of Muslims and the deliberate creation of a new dark power to America's "shining beacon" (like communism once was) but there is so much more here - like a very good, easy and hard to prove reason for declaring war/imposing sanctions on people.

It should be a war against ideology. 9/11 was done by extremist Muslims. McVeigh was a Christen, white supremacy groups are not Muslims but are terrorists

Islamic extremists need to be dealt with. The war on terror targets individuals who pose a threat to Western civilization - as the videos that Usama Bin Laden and other Muslim extremists have posted, asking Americans and others to convert to Islam.
The culture of Islam is not one that allows a peaceful coexistence with non-muslims. In fact, it never has been very peaceful. Muhammad began this religion around 500 AD and it was spread--not through peace or reasoned arguments--but through force and military power. Muhammad fought 32 wars and had other mini battles with his opposing neighbors. Besides the historical battles their were, and still are, other hatreds that stem from a religious viewpoint.
Besides the historical evidence for the hatred of all non-muslims, but not necessarily hatred from ALL muslims, there is the evidence that comes from their very own Quran. In the Quran there are places to be found that ask for world domination, to kill all infidels, to kill those who leave the religion of Islam, and to not allow other religions to come into contact with their culture.
If this and other facts do not prove that Islam is a violent religion, then comment to me and I will respond. If you need to argue with me, please do so with actual proof of the contrary, and not just your opinion.
Also, please use reason in your arguments, and not just an impassioned fury. Bush is not a terrorist. Stop changing the meaning of a word to benefit your hatred for him. He has not been convicted of any crime.

I don't like Bush either, but I think you are making some assumptions that are way too broad in scope.
The US has designated many non Islamic groups as terrorist...for example the IRA.
However, as far as Islamism and terrorism are connected, if the shoe fits, go ahead and wear it.

It should be a war against Islam. Look at what they are doing to themselves over in Pakistan. The dark ages are over. If you are going to share this planet with us, then you had better get up to speed on how civil societies behave. If not, then we just can't have you living on our small rock with very limited resources. Cancers need to be removed before they spread too far.
A belief that allows a raped woman to be sentenced to 200 lashings and jail time just for being a victim has no place on this planet in the 21st century.

I think some other groups should be considered if we are going to "root out terrorists wherever they may be"...
I agree that too many Americans just jumped on the bandwagon with that one...
