It's the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us the freedom of the press.

It's the Soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us the freedom of speech.

It's the Soldier, not the politicians
That ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

It's the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag.

What has Bush achieved overseas?

In the Middle East, Ithe Iraq invasion has been a disaster which has handed the country to Iran.

Hamas and Hezbollah have never been so powerful and popular

Islamists now rule Turkey and have made ground in Egypt despite political repression.

China has been allowed to beef up its military might

Russia has relaunched its strategic bomber fleet and is sounding more bellicose

Latin America has gone anti-imperialist / socialist almost overnight.

Oil has quadrupled in price

America is now losing out to Europe, not just Asia in trade.

Personally, I feel he's too controlling - wants to clamp down on everything - that sooner rather than later there'll be a 'no confidence vote', probably as the unions dig their heels in, you know - same old crap & he'll be 'forced' to a General Election in no time - what do you think, especially after this fisaco with Northern Rock, where from what the media was saying, because the Bank of England was 'so' transparent, that's what caused the problem in the first place - now they're having to re-think the whole archaic banking system?!

Do you think he can handle the whole Royal Family situation - it's been said his predecessor may have saved the old biatch's bacon over Diana - do you feel Brown will do likewise, if she shows us all what a cold hearted piece of work she and the rest of them are - well the older ones anyway - for some other reason; especially if anything tangible linking the death of Diana to the Royal Family comes to light?

In essence, will he last the course?

I mean just look at the top 100 universities in the world. More than half of the universities there are American. Sure we have a lot of illiterate people but just think about it we have a population of 300+ million I mean do you think its easy to support 300+ million people and make sure all of them has a proper education? And also a big number of the modern technology that is being used today was invented by Americans or people in the United States.
i.e.
The Internet
The Airplane
Electricity
The Telephone
The Microwave (everyone uses this)
The Laser
The Minicomputer AKA Desktop computers
Space Program
Cervical Cancer Vaccine
etc.
These are just some of the inventions we have created that have benefited humanity in so many ways. So how the hell can we be called stupid when no one else even cam close to what we have achieved? I mean you can create all of this thru just dumb luck.

...government is going completely UNTRUTHFUL!!! She has stated to me personally that she does not know who to believe. Is this a world wide phenomenau??? Sounds a lot like the US of A! I personally vote for Ron Paul, because of his incredable HONESTY & 100% perfect voting record!!! All aside, has "politicking" now gone "global" to where one politician is a like to another, internationally??? If so, why???

Fact is, the conservatives that are around right now are straight up crooks! The democratic party could be the same way, and in fact, it probably is. Both the Republican and Democratic party ideals would both work in theory, and are both right. However, the conservatives in office now are manipulating the masses that support them who do not realize how much they are being scammed. Yes, I agree that those who have not worked hard do not deserve handouts, however, when the government gives handouts to their buddies and justifies it because they are part of a so-called corporation, that is straight-up hypocrisy! When 190 billion dollars is approved for a meandering war and 7 billion for child healthcare is rejected, you have to realize everything is not kosher! These people could be Democrats and it wouldn't change a thing! They could still justify it, just in a different way!

Isn't it time people realized smoke was being blown up their *** by the politicians in this country?

...send over the renewal on its' own so the children don't have to suffer?
-
Reid is a deceptive little man. President Bush isn't refusing to "renew" the program. He is refusing to expand it. The solution is simple. Put the renewal in one bill and let the President sign it so the children won't be held hostage. Then put the expansion in a second bill and see if it is still "bi-partisan". If it is and the President veto's the expansion, then they can see if they have the override votes. For the congress not to pass the part that the President will sign and to hold the children hostage to blatant political aims is unconscionable. Ried should be ashamed of himself. Why is he punishing the children so he can fail in an attempt to score politically? Isn't it a waste?

So many people claim that if Mitt Romney was president then the mormon leaders would have this control over him. Noone ever makes that claim agains the highest ranking US senator, Harry Reid, who is a self proclaimed practicing mormon.
Isnt it a bit insincere to voice concerns over Romneys faith when noone ever voices it over Reids?

they talk about the party of Lincoln... freed the slaves...

the party that gave African Americans the right to vote...

which are both correct...

these were not "conservative" actions... they were at the time... borderline radically liberal... non-traditional... some thought it would destroy the economy, which current conservatives wouldn't stand for...

and at the time... the South was dominated by clearly conservative Democrats that wanted to keep the traditions of the south, no matter how horrible they were?

in fact, the few who were frustrated with WWII were Republicans and some didn't want to be in the war... quite liberal again...

and they were the party of MLK Jr.... who was quite liberal, to the point where the CIA investigated him...

but then... Strom Thurmond switched parties and the conservative south shifted... and NIxon came around (who did stop Vietnam, by the way)... but ushered in a different kind of Repbulcian.

are Republicans proud of liberal heritage?

"Never has it been clearer how detached President Bush is from the priorities of the American people," Reid said in a statement. "By vetoing a bipartisan bill to renew the successful Children's Health Insurance Program, President Bush is denying health care to millions of low-income kids in America. "

There are no Nazis, no Mongols, no Huns, and there is no Napoleon. What is the point of keeping our mega-expensive army? Oh, that's right, bully third-world nations, veto health care plans for children and anything that would benefit the domestic home front.

What does the country that is number 2 on the list spend? Last I read, it was China with 10 billion, compared to our 700 billion estimated, after Iraq and A-stan are factored in.

And we think the terrorists are the bad guys? Har har har! The more and more I look at US soldiers, the more they look like Storm troopers. Oh, the irony!

*I am not anti-military, but this is not a video game, this is not something to be played with! This is reality, and the United States does not need this much military force! You guys can spout all the rhetoric you want, but it shouldn't cost trillions to fight guys who have a budget in the six to seven figures at most!

Why do Democratic liberals want to silence Conservative ideology via the ’fairness doctrine.’?
