What has Bush achieved overseas?

In the Middle East, Ithe Iraq invasion has been a disaster which has handed the country to Iran.

Hamas and Hezbollah have never been so powerful and popular

Islamists now rule Turkey and have made ground in Egypt despite political repression.

China has been allowed to beef up its military might

Russia has relaunched its strategic bomber fleet and is sounding more bellicose

Latin America has gone anti-imperialist / socialist almost overnight.

Oil has quadrupled in price

America is now losing out to Europe, not just Asia in trade.

I forgot to mention that world opinion sees America as more of a force for evil than good...this was the opposite under Clinton.

As for 9/11: If Clinton had been in power, it probably wouldn't have happened..in any case, that is domestic policy ( homeland security)

BABE: So Libya and N.Korea are the achievements are they? You don't mention that Clinton was the one who got the talks going in the first place.

While I would differ with you on exactly how and what constitutes a disaster,I would have to answer your main question with an unequivocal ,NO!!
No. No one in his right mind with even a minimum of capability for analysis could possibly tell you otherwise. ¨Unmitigated disaster¨ in this case might even be an understatement.

I would argue that Iraq has been turned into a lawless no man's land where Islamic terrorist groups and criminal tribal warlords fight it out and give neighbouring Iran every reason to want to get in there and stabilize the region for their own purposes. According to Gral. Petraeus, we are about to compound our initial errors, this time by choosing OUR OWN criminal warlords to be our allies(ha,ha,ha),to cherish and to hold,to love and to arm to the teeth,to nurture and to give millions of $$$ to, in hopes that they will do what we want them to do.

Our policy of supporting Israel with billions in arms and aid while ignoring Palestine's legitimate grievances has, without fail, forced Palestinians to ever more radical positions. Our professed love and support of democracies are so many empty, hollow words when we don't like the democratically elected governments of Palestine,Turkey,Algeria, etc etc. Perhaps we should not have meddled to begin with?

Our condoning of anything israel does,no matter how nefarious, has weakened a potential ally in the middle east. Lebanon,a once relatively healthy, extremely pro- western modern democracy has continually been interfered with at all levels by Israel, including a full scale invasion. They routinely bribe, discredit, assasinate and corrupt Lebanese politicians. It is Israel's policy to discredit Lebanon and hamstring it precisely because Lebanon could have been an Arab alternative to Israel's supposed status as our ONLY ally in the Middle East!

I agree 100% with you on China.

After the Cold War we should have been doing everything in our power to woo Russia. We should have been treating Russia much as we did Germany and Japan after WW II. Instead, we have been undermining a potentially dangerous country, humiliating it and aiding and abetting its enemies. While we pursue a policy of outright support for Israel in the Middle East ,thus alienating the whole Islamic world,we have been actively encouraging dissent and unrest in the Islamic countries in Russia's former sphere of influence, thereby creating trouble on Russia's doorstep! Just imagine if a foreign super power were to follow this policy among among our Hispanic population in the border states? Russia would make a powerful ,western, Christian(by historical tradition) ally and we are doing our best to turn it into a potentially dangerous enemy at a time we need friends!

Some countries of South America have been seduced by populist despots and indigenous demagogues who have the chair right now. I don't see much danger here. Thugs like Chavez are only trying to fill the ecological niche about to be abandoned by Fidel Castro. What is dangerous is that natural resource rich countries in S.A. have seen the writing on the wall in Iraq and have taken note. ¨If we've got it and the U.S. wants it then nothing short of nuclear weapons will stop them!¨ Countries like Brasil and Venezuela could be tempted to go down that road. Why should they ever trust us again?

I wish I could tell you that... but I can't.

The fact is that by using an incredibly simplistic and selfish view of the world, the US has managed to turn almost everyone into either enemies or vaguely amused bystanders.

If the US didn't have so much residual economic clout - or so many thermonuclear warheads - it would be funny. It's as if no-body else mattered... or nobody else had a culture or society or political system or way of looking at the world which was worth a damn.

So, as someone who doesn't live in the US, I look at Bush and wonder what the hell you people were thinking!

Qaddafi got rid of his weapons and is playing nicer
Hamas and Hezbollah on the contrary to what you say are not more popular or powerful.
We have handed nothing to Iran, Iraq is still a solid state on its own.
What does the US have to do with Islam in Turkey? that's stupid.
In regards to China, you can thank Clinton for selling them our military secrets, and you can thank yourself and all others who buy the "made in China" label, which gives them the funds to build it with. (china is going through a bit of a recession right now by the way).
We have no control over Latin America and if you think this happened overnight, you are dumber than you look
The EU is making Europe more competitive. They have to do something to compete to support their socialist policies. The US is still strong and we will continue to be strong. As long as we keep losers such as yourself out of our way.

Obama did not get UBL. That victory could be credited to the loads of troops, diplomats intelligence people who artwork for countless years to hint him down and danger their lives. As for Iraq, we are going to see. the middle East is gotten plenty worse and Iraq isn't almost as good as you would be able to think of. As for worldwide subject concerns, enable's see saved the Olympics, replaced into in charge for countless worldwide firms making a ton of money (so the libs say). HMMM, i might think of that somebody who you sense is a disaster in foreign places coverage would not be waiting to attain those aspects.

Any buses blow up in your neighborhood lately? Any rogue airplanes do a controlled flight into it? How bout any snipers taking someone out in town? ........... Thought not.

PS. Good Americans don't care what other countries think ! Why do liberals think politics should be focused group and poll driven, and that its just one big popularity contests.?

He works for them, obviously. They must be very happy and pleased with him and his daddy:, he blew up the twins, kill a lot of our men, excuse me slaughter, destroy the economy, the education, Bush must be something like the sergeant or lieutenant of their army by now. He'll probably will retire in some Arab country like Dubai? or Kuwait? Remember he kill Sadam that dare to invade Kuwait in 1991, a beautiful set up made by his daddy.
