I think that arrogance and a sense of superiority is one reason why politicians lie. Knowing that they can get away with lying is another. They believe the public is not very discerning or intelligent and they know that their spinmeisters can cover for them when their lies are detected..
Of course, outright lies are not the only device in the politicians' bag of tricks. In my view, when they focus on the emotional aspect of an issue or engage in character assassination in order to manipulate voters, they're doing something far worse and far more destructive than lying.

Are they really lie's or a is it just the fact that once they get into office they then find out how emensly hard it is to get anything done.
I mean really have you ever had to deal with the government? They take their time and make decisions based on a book of rule and regualtions that only a lawyer can understand.
If you only look at the current laws on the books and then watch when a new law is presented and passed, chances are that a law already exist for the same thing but it's not inforced.
Again, think aobut it his way, you are runny for president, and have a great thought about being able to change the laws so that new drugs could get to the market faster, this would speed up curing some diseases and make it cheaper for the drug companies to Research & Develop drug, so while running for office you tell the people that you are going to make prescription drug available to everyone at a fair cost.
Is this a lie?Well based on your plan the companies are now saving billions of dollars and if you change the laws to make all this owrk and then give them a tax incentive for making presciption drugs affordable to all that need them. But what happens is the congress refuses to change the FDA requirements on new drugs so the companies can't save mney and nothing changes although your plan works, were you lying? Well no not really, but the American citizen has the ability still to make their representitives in congress vote for ehat we want. and if the people are telling the congress not to change it then the people are the ones that has failed you, not your plan!

Well, it all has to do with power and money! I mean in order to attain power they must win your trust! And if they are exposed, then all trust is lost! Politicians don't like to look bad in the public eye! They will do anything to protect their reputation! Even if it means lying about something awful that they did.

Maybe they don't lie?
You don't know just as much as I don't know.
So don't get caught up on it and figure out the truth for yourself, rather than filtered truth through someone else's lips and experiences.
The End.
