Al Gore is matured and broad thinker. He stands up for something. In fact, he almost won the election against Bush. Considering different factors, he is the best bet we got. What do you say? Can you make him run again with a Nation wide march for him?

Why is it that in every state where there are things like say colleges, museums, theater, and culture they vote overwhelmingly democratic. And in everstate where there are tractors, corn, cow patties, and hay they vote republican.

Educated = Democrat
Uneducated hilliblly, hayseed, two teeth = Republican

Fascism is an authoritarian political ideology (generally tied to a mass movement) that considers individual and other societal interests subordinate to the needs of the state. Fascists seek to forge a type of national unity. Various scholars attribute different characteristics to fascism, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: nationalism, authoritarianism, statism, militarism, totalitarianism, anti-communism, corporatism, populism, and opposition to economic and political liberalism.

I mean, I just picture Iowa being so sparsly populated, with farms and little hick towns. It seems like Calif or NY would be where the most voters would reside.
Don't make fun...I'm just learning, and trying to learn about politics..

I hear them complaining a lot that they "don't get anything done"... when in fact, Bush's veto pen has been very busy?

what is he vetoing if they aren't passing anything?

and how do you expect them to "pass legislation" if Bush vetoes it?

I don't quite get it?

did they magically just get enough members to override a veto and I missed it?

It has to do with a number of factors I believe. The first being socialist democracy. Democracy has been called "two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner" and I think it sums it up nicely.

A "hand-out" system will eventually corrupt even the best work ethic of the most respectable germanics, but for minorities it is a free-for-all. The poor will always outnumber the rich and when the poor are given the same amount of voting power as the rich it is only a matter of time until they vote themselves the national treasury. The framers of the American Constitution understood this and only allowed land-owning males the right to vote because they understood that only those who have a vested interest in the affairs of the government should have a say in government.

I find it interesting that they blame the war on Republicans, when they are the ones in power!

Well, this is your war now Dems, besides you all voted for it anyway, so, there you go! Its all yours, and so is the responsibility.

I think that if the Dems dont clean up their messes by 2008, we need to vote out the bums, and get some new leadership in the Congress. They have had enough time to fix their messes, i guess its up to the Republicans to clean it up for them, as usual..

"BOULDER, Colo. — About 50 Boulder High School students walked out of class Thursday to protest the daily reading of the Pledge of Allegiance and recited their own version, omitting "one nation, under God."

The students say the phrase violates the constitutional separation of church and state."

I support them. As an atheist, it is pretty arrogant of school officials to try and make people like me recite a phrase as empty and meaningless as "under God." It's something I never recited.

We all remember the 2006 elections . The beating that the cons took and the promises that got the dems their victories . Every news outlet in the country acknowledged that this was a statement from the people that they wanted troop withdrawals. . . and NOW . Then of course we all remember the countless Non-Binding resolutions that many of you lauded as the first steps to the ultimate goal of troop withdrawal .
Now us cons argued two points with ya then . .. . 1 . - We should stay in Iraq and finish the job . . . . and 2. - Many of us cons made bold predictions that this was all a farce and the although the dems publicly used the anti-war message to get elected , it wasn't likely that they really meant it . We asserted that it was all done for votes .
Today , well today we now see the major dem candidates talking about troop withdrawal by 2013.. . . MAYBE .

So - Tell me something - How Are You Taking The News ?
Did Your Guys Lie Or Have You Changed Your Mind With Them ?

Chicago, Ill. (CNSNews.com) - Leaving nothing to chance, Chicago area Democratic Party precinct captains were out in full force early Tuesday morning, canvassing Cook County cemeteries, morgues and mausoleums in a concerted voter turnout effort.

The dead have always been a critical factor in Chicago political calculus, and this year appears to be no exception.

The last-minute appeal seems to have energized the demised, as Cook County voter registration Monday exceeded 7 million - an impressive 237% of the adult population
