I hear them complaining a lot that they "don't get anything done"... when in fact, Bush's veto pen has been very busy?
what is he vetoing if they aren't passing anything?
and how do you expect them to "pass legislation" if Bush vetoes it?
I don't quite get it?
did they magically just get enough members to override a veto and I missed it?

Man, when people don't look up their facts before posting their crap...they sure come out looking silly.
Again, how many vetoes has Bush had?
President Bush used his veto pen for only the second time Tuesday after Congress sent him a war spending bill that would impose timelines to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq, which he called a “prescription for chaos.”

You tell me what he has been vetoeing.
You do realize that Congress can override the President's Vetoes don't you. It requires 2/3 vote. Do you know why then the Bills still aren't making it? Because not only the President, but over 1/3 of the legislators ALSO think they're a bad idea.
I expect congress to stop wasting time and money on stupid polictical FU** FU** games.
Example : I can think of about five or six weeks they wasted on pushing the War-Spending Bill through, when they were told before they even voted on it that it would be vetoed.

Agreed.
But they have have done things...
On August 4, House Democrats passed crucial energy legislation, the New Direction for Energy Independence, National Security, and Consumer Protection Act.
In March, by a 51-47 vote, the emergency spending bill including troop withdrawal language passed to no longer give Bush a blank check.
In May the Senate voted 63-28 on an amendment to allow lower-priced prescription drugs to be imported from Canada.
There's more, but I don't want to take up space.

They must force his hand, as they are doing with the State Children's Insurance extension. They will most likely have enough votes to override the veto.
He has promised to veto the health coverage for American children. He is playing politics with children's lives. There will be many Republicans whose conscience, or desire for reelection, prompt them to vote against his veto.

Bush has only vetoed 2 bills. By the way it is the Republicans who are the obstructionists not just Bush.

what they should do is either not vote for a funding bill except what is need to get the troops out as fast as is technically possible, or since the Dems control the house, simply do not bring a spending bill to the floor unless it's got a short timetable

Your English grammar needs some work. Congress has not passed any legislation lately. Mr. Bush has not vetoed anything lately.

Of all the things in the world that dems and reps disagree with , one thing cannot be denied . The dems knew they didn't have , nor would they get an over-riding majority when they made their boisterous claims of troop withdrawal .
This is one imperative inescapable FACT .
