An internal agency audit released today found that the Department of Justice spent more than $1.5 million on food and beverages at 10 conferences in 2005 and 2006.

At one reception during a law enforcement conference, the agency spent $60,000 on cotton candy, popcorn, caramel apples, ice cream and licorice. At another conference, two ``themed breaks'' featured ice cream and stadium food such as pretzels, hot dogs and Cracker Jack, and cost $42,000.

The reason I'm asking - Republicans always talk about minimizing Big Government Spending and lowering taxes... As a liberal Democrat, it is the one thing that I find to be most admirable about your party.

It is the so-called "do nothing" congress that ordered this audit and I would just like to know how you feel about that.

All active (including non combat deaths) military deaths, AVERAGED 938 deaths per year, under each year during Clinton's administration.

All active (INCLUDING COMBAT AND NON COMBAT DEATHS) military deaths AVERAGED 1465 deaths per year between 2001-2006 (as 2007 is not yet conclusive), which INCLUDES war time deaths.

How can the active military death rate not even double during war time?

Does this put things in perspective for the liberals who claim we should bring our troops home (retreat) because of the number of military deaths?

How long before a sniveling liberal accuses me of not caring about our military, because I brought statistics?

Thank God for Russia, who remember the brave struggle of their Serbian brothers against the Turkish invaders and the occupation by force of their ancestral lands. America could care less about Europe and Blair just went along with Clinton in getting Nato to bomb the Serbs.
Another piece of luck for the gallant Serbs is Chinese support, which is given because Tito was one of the first to recognise the PRC and - more importantly - because if the UN is allowed to separate Kosovo from Serbia, the way will be open to separate Taiwan, Tibet, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang from the PRC.
I hope Gordon Brown will back away from Blair's position on Kosovo and that the USA will stop its meddling there too.

Hillary, yet, at the same time, lend their endorsement to Rudy Giuliani, who publicly cheated on his wife AND married his second cousin?

If Hillary Clinton is elected President in 2008 (and let's save the "it'll never happen" stuff; I concede that you think it will never happen, so let's move on), will you keep your oppositions quiet and publicly lend her your full support as President of the United States of America? Because in that event, she will be a President of this country in wartime.

If you say that you won't support her, you have just negated any reasoning you may have that I have no right to say anything bad about George Bush.

I mean, there's so much they can bash these lame candidates for, yet they don't.. Romney's a "flip flop", Thompson is lazy and is afraid to even show his face. And Rudy, well they could just have a field day with him..
Seems by focusing on Bush, they allow themselves to take a thrashing.. The reps seem to be playing the "game" much better as all of them talk rarely about the issues but mainly about the dems in general.. Isn't it about time they fought back?

This is for republicans. I think we should seriously try to give Hilary Clinton a helping hand. Because if she wins the Democratic Nomination ..we will see another Republican in the Whitehouse.. here is why.

Hilary has a very dubious past. It hasnt come out yet because republican candidates are siting on it, hoping she wins the nomination. If she wins..the gloves come off. The whitewater investigation. The Rose law firm biling files that mysteriously disapeared then reappeared in the whitehouse..and Hilary saying that she didnt know how they got there. Or more importantly how she has conections with some very bad people like Johnny Chung, John Huang, Ng Lap Seng, Mochtar Riady, the McDougalds, Craig Livingstone, Webster Hubbell and Jorge Cabrera. There is alot more. Too much to post unfortunetly.. because id like to share... What the republicans have on her will make Swift boat vs john kerry look like amature hour.

Lets hope she wins.

every major communist country that has come along has been our enemy; cuba, soviet union, north korea, and the north vietnamese and eventually the whole country
so its a pretty safe bet that china will eventually be an adversary as well, be it because of taiwan, or the pushing or their boundaries further into the pacific.
(and i dont want any bs answers like "america is its own enemy", or stuff like that)

As far as I've noticed, the Constitution does not contain the word "Yahoo."

The Constitution can only limit the authority of the federal government. The Constitution states that the federal government may not infringe on your right to speak freely. (Again, no mention of Yahoo, right?)

So could someone please show me where the Constitution says that private organizations are not allowed to monitor and make rules about the content on a website they pay for and maintain?

Does that mean that we'll have to cut back on our breathing since we exhale C02?
