This is a good question. I criticize every politician and president since I have voted. I am extremely skeptical of people that blindly follow and trust their president and senators. I think it is healthy to question our leaders and their motives and their ambitions and what lobbies and corporations that they take money or advice from for any reason. I actually think that that skepticism is what the people that founded this nation did.
It pisses me off when people slam the door on people that question all faces of the government and insult us and call us traitors. (I have served this nation and I think I am owed the right to express my opinion... I also don't think that my opinion means more just because I was once a soldier) It is not always personal or out of hatred but concern for the nation and the Constitution... we should not give our leaders the benefit of the doubt, we should grill them and they should be capable and able to answer us and not accuse the people of questioning them.

Saying that you disagree with the policies or practices of anyone in public office or anyone anywhere for that matter is a first amendment right and I never heard anyone say anything remotely indicating that you do not have that right from any political party. However disagreeing with someone's policies and disrespecting that person especially the office of the President of the United States is two different things. As a conservative there are many things I have disagrees with Bush about, but I won't disrespect him by calling him names or anything to that effect. There are many so called Conservatives or Republicans and even Democrats in public office that I don't like or don't agree with, but I don't disrespect any of them and don't call names or liars or anything demeaning.Just by reaching that position and all the crap that goes with running for that position, such as your life and everything you have done since the day you were born is an open book, means that they deserve some respect. Now that you know the difference between disrespect and voicing a disagreement with someone I am sure your question is more along the lines that since you are discouraged from calling Bush every name in the book like you want to should we do the same if by some off chance Hillary becomes president? I for one will not disrespect her but I already know I most likely will disagree with 100% of whatever she does in office.

Every American citizen has the right to free speech, that is guaranteed by the United States Constitution, you can not threaten the president but, you can disagree with his or her( if we ever have a female President) policies. That's why living in this country is so great ! most other countries would send the secret police and you'd never be heard from again.
Personally This country was running great. We were in the black financially, and even had a surplus. I personally don't care if he was fooling around with Monica, she was of age and a willing participant. If I was married to someone like Hillary, I'd have an affair too !

First, I think she has a strong chance to become President. I won't vote for her but she could win. Second, most would not say you do not have a right to your opinion but I will support her far more than the Democrats supported Bush. Third, freedom of speech does not mean you can call anyone rude nasty things and wish them ill health or discredit them w/o any facts or proof. Finally, I do not know what remarks you made to receive such a comment but if you went to far perhaps you deserved the remark. I will give you the benefit of a doubt and assume you did not overstate your opinion. Peace

I don't like Bush or Hillary, but to some extent there should be respect among the people for the office. This is not to say that we shouldn't be critical of certain policies.

I have to ask who told you that you couldn't criticize George Bush. And most importantly, why you believed them? This is America and will be until people like George Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove eliminate the constitution. Until then, we can call the people who own George Bush evil, psychotic bastards and no one can stop us. For those of you who somehow bought the idea that our situation in Iraq makes it unpatriotic to comment on that incompetent clown and his keepers, may I ask you what we're fighting for, if not the right to call him an incompetent clown. Or do you believe, as Major Burns in MASH did that 'Our country will only remain free as long as everyone does exactly as they're told".

well, even now the Repubs are playing at setting a double standard. apparently it was okay for them to berate, smear and swiftboat Kerry, Murtha and McCain but it's a big no no to whammy their war salesman Patreaus. Repubs can dish it out with a shovel but can't take it with a teaspoon. whiners.
in no way would neoCONNED Repubs respect Hillary as President. they're already seething with Clinton angst and if she sat in the Oval Office it'd be nonstop hate spew.
PS. Thumper rests my case for me. thanx Thump!

You have every right to voice your opposition to George Bush. I see people saying he is responsible for 9/11. And he should be tried for treason, and other crap like that. That is just stupid.
Do you oppose his policies, or do you attack him personally?? There is a difference.

You have the right to speak your mind, that is why we have freedom of speech. We just get tired of hearing about how we should support some raging liberal feminazi who would scare the crap out of all of us if she was President in time of war. Sure, bash Bush all you want since that is all the game you Dems have to bring to the table. We also get tired of childish rants.

Come on, never ask a question that gives a republican an oppurtunity to lie.
You really think any of these republicans aren't going to be bashing Hillary even if they sit here pretending they're going to give her respect because she's President?
They conducted a 6 year witchhunt on Bill, I seriously doubt they're going to treat Hillary any better.
