You Are All Contributing To Global Warming!?!?!?

Question

Okay, according to Gore and his Dooms Day Theory on Global Warming, we are causing Global Warming be putting too much C02 in the atmosphere.

Does that mean that we'll have to cut back on our breathing since we exhale C02?

My issues is this.

C02 isn't even considered a gas in our atmosphere. Meteorologists consider it a TRACE ELEMENT from when our atmosphere first developed millions of years ago.

Today, it makes up 0.032% of the atmosphere.

80% of Global Warming is the cause of Cloud Cover and Wate Vapor.

These are facts you learn in Meteorology 101.

Look... cow's flatulents put out a ton of these gasses too. So I make sure that I eat as much steak as possible! The liberal PETA people are very confused about it... I am eating a tasty animal... but... I am saving the planet too!

1) CO2 that you exhale is part of the natural carbon cycle, which is completely balanced. Thus breathing does not contribute to global warming. It's when you burn fossil fuels and release carbon that's been trapped for hundreds of thousands of years that you're adding new carbon which the cycle can't absorb and thus contributing to global warming.

2) The fact that CO2 is not relatively abundant in the atmosphere is irrelevant. If there are 10 animals on you, and only 1 of them is an elephant, will you say the elephant is irrelevant because it only composes 10% of the animals on you?

You neglect the weight of the elephant and you're crushed to death. You neglect the global warming potential of CO2 and you ignore the science behind climate change.

3) Atmospheric water vapor is entirely dependent on atmospheric temperature. The hotter the planet, the hotter the atmosphere, the more water vapor in the atmosphere. Thus water vapor - while it does contribute to the most to the greenhouse effect - does not initiate global warming. It can amplify global warming if it's caused by something else (i.e. CO2), but it cannot itself initiate global warming. Thus blaming water vapor is simply misunderstanding the science and missing the point.

It is just HYPE, Global Warming is a whole new "religion". I use that term loosely. It is just another issue for liberals to go "nutty" over, as if they are not "nutty" enough. 30 years ago, the same people were scaring everybody with the same Mantra, only it was Global Cooling - the next Ice Age. It is called a cycle that the earth is going through. Who is man to think that he has that much power. I am not saying trash up the streets, but I am saying use common sense. But, as we all know, liberals don't have common sense. Just look at what they believe in, and fight for, and fight against. They will contradict themselves, stab each other in the back, stab the voters in the face if they think it will win them an election. They have no moral fiber - it is I will do whatever is the most popular thing. And, right now, Global Warming is the "in" issue. And, if you haven't figured it out - NO, we are not causing Global Warming.

Yeah Yeah , and are these the same "thousands of scientist" that were in panic mode over the coming "ICE AGE" they were predicting in 1975 ?? If that's the case , then whatever you The Sky`s Falling Chicken Little's did to stop the coming " ICE AGE " back in 1975 , just stop it , as you are the ones causing GOREBAL WARMING because you evidently still havein place whatever you did to cause the earth to heat up and prevent the "COMING ICE AGE " in 1975 ; HEY ; looks like it worked , so stop it so the earth can cool back down !!

Global Warming? Yes, we get more warm in summer, that's the job of the sun, and earth every summertime. I think Al Gore forgot that there is also Global Cooling. It's called Wintertime.

Alpha Male, you're usually on point around here.

Gore's right, and he's backed up by thousands of scientists and scads of evidence. I hated the guy when he was in office, but he's pretty self-deprecating now, and I don't think he's just pandering for the hell of it. He genuinely cares about this issue.

BTW, when emissions standards were implemented in California back in the 70's and have progressively heightened since then, the air in the state and the number of smog warnings has dramatically decreased.

Mexico City has started the same thing and China's forced to follow suit so they can host the Olympics. Unfortunately, there's alot more CO2 we can't account for no matter what we do as humans.

global warming may be or may not be true however i dont think we can take the risk of not doing anything about it. its as if you go to the doctor and they say you may have cancer but we are not sure so we are going to do nothing about it until we know for sure. besides the actions that gore and most other environmentalist are asking us to do are small steps. such as recycle, turn off electronic devices not being used, turn off water while you brush your teeth simple things like this. if every one does a small part we can really make a diffrence.

you know, i've always thought it funny how you never hear them mention the insane and constant growth in population as a cause... why don't they care, alpha male? when is somebody going to stand up and protest until they regulate our reproduction?! this is something that needs to happen NOW... communist china did it, why can't we? ...and how about those darned russians & their procreation day... i thought tipper was supposed to handle that one.

I don't think that would be a good idea, it is obvious quite a few aren't getting enough oxygen to their brains as it is.
