President Bush, First Lady Laura and Vice President Dick Cheney were flying on Air Force One. George looked at Laura, chuckled and said, "You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out of the window right now and make somebody very happy."

Laura shrugged her shoulders and replied, "I could throw ten $100 bills out the window and make ten people very happy." Cheney added, "That being the case, I could throw one hundred $10 bills out of the window and make a hundred people very happy"

Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his co-pilot. "Such big-shots back there. Sh*#, I could throw all of them out of
the window and make 56 million people very happy."

America was considered a 3rd world military power until 1943-1944 or so. It served us quite well. We had peace, for the most part, worked on economic and diplomatic problems that served America well, and, generally, performed as an instrument for peaceful existence with others.

I'm referring to Fred Thompson, of course. He was chided for 'yukking it up' on a talk show while his fellow GOP candidates were debating serious issues on the FOX News channel.

They say he has a long way to go due to his lackluster fundraising and his frequent staffing changes.

How well will Fred against the other GOPers?

I read a couple of comments saying that if the American poeple are really sick of their healthcare, that they should go out and do something about it and NOT just sit around talking about it.

Well here it is: OneCareNow.Org

Join the movement.

Even if you cannot actively participate...read the site...read the Senate Bill 840...

If you like what you see and want to take some action, SIGN the petition.

If you don't like what you see, let me know.

Tell me what yout think...about SicKo, about Michael Moore, about the healthcare system in the U.S., about the healthcare system in other countries, about socialism (damn those public schools!! TOTALLY being sarcastic of course!), about whatever pops into your mind about the healthcare situation.

Putin of Russia now is throwing his weight around in Europe without impunity, Iran is mouthy and stronger, Egypt is drifting from its treaty with Israel, Palestinian chao is at a 50 year high, China becomes stronger internationally by the day. The REAL lesson from Japan (not the one Bush spoke of last week), is, that without using a military to get your way, a nation grows strong and better off for her people without wasting money and lives of her own people!

as an Englishman who is currently in the USA on business i feel i must ask this.
As a successful international businessman i have travelled the world over and it always amazes me how poorly Americans are treated. Most Americans are subjected to laughter and ridicule when they venture from their homeland and many Americans pretend to be Canadian to escape the mockery.
Is it any wonder that Americans are scared to leave their own country?

My honest opinion, I think the others started too early, WAY too much information too soon! And it's bit some of them in the ***, for sure. What do you think of Fred doing it now?

What I mean by that is if Israel had been created in Europe somewhere there would be a lot less problems today. Also you have to ask yourself was it a clever strategic move on behalf of the United Nations to choose the area for Israel. I mean considering they knew back then that there was a lot of oil in the middle east. They could disguise that fact by saying that it was their land hundreds of years ago. Why would after the total destruction of world war 2 the UN decide that Israel should be created in Arab lands in total and complete opposition of the people of that area?
