I read a couple of comments saying that if the American poeple are really sick of their healthcare, that they should go out and do something about it and NOT just sit around talking about it.

I agree that our health care system needs to be addressed, but Michael Moore's solution of a universal health care is not the answer. Nothing will change, the rich will still get better health care then the poor. If you don't believe that, look at our universal legal system. This country has free legal representation to all who can't afford a lawyer, but the rich will always be able to buy justice because they can afford better lawyers.
In England they have socialized medicine (let's call it what it is) but they also have private practices, which is where all the good doctor are (you really don't think The Queen goes to the NHS for her medical needs, do you?) So what's left for the poor? Rookies, being trained by incompetents. The only way socialized medicine can work is if you force all the doctors to work for the system. You can't do that and also claim you live in a free society. That's why it works in Cuba, and not in countries where the people have rights.

I have not seen the movie, but I have heard about it from others. All I can tell you is that if you happen to be a homeless person in the Los Angeles area, and you have a medical emergency that requires transportation by an ambulance, you most likely WILL be taken to a KAISER FACILITY! If you aren't smart enough to walk out before they start injecting you with meds that will render you unable to walk, then chances are HIGH that you will never been seen or heard from again. Your body parts are worth a quarter of a million dollars on the donor market. I kid you NOT! I was lucky enough to make it out alive, yet missing quite a few vials of blood that were taken for no apparent reason & no tests were ever found on my medical records...9 months later! It seems that I was "off the charts" for those 9 months & during that time, someone assumed by id & social! Sweet!

I didn't read all of it, just enough to know that it wouldn't work. How can anyone expect the government to control cost on health care when they do such an abysmal job controlling cost everywhere else? Price control by the government has never worked, that's what caused the gas shortage in the late 70s. I agree there is a lot of waste in the health care industry and something has to be done about it but letting the government be the watchdog just scares the crap out of me. As for Michael Moore, he's a socialist and wants the US to become more socialized than it already is. What I find hilarious is the fact that he's now a millionaire and he's made his money on the backs of the poor. Try out this website, http://www.onthefencefilms.com/video/deadmeat/deadmeat.html and see how the Canadians Healt care is really working.

We have the best healthcare in the world. However, there are problems - but the government should not be in charge of fixing it. Mitt Romney did a good job in his state by deregulating the insurance industry. They were not tied by excessive regulations and the price of premiums dropped like a rock. Everyone had to pay something, and it was based on a sliding scale.
While Michael Moore has a right to his opinion, he should be careful to not go around spreading falsehoods. He is just trying to make a buck off the capitalist system that he says he despises. He is a hypocrite.

No, no, no, we do not need socialism. What we need is affordable health care where we can choose the program that fits our needs. Do not give away your freedoms to the government. Socialized health care does not work well. Look how the governments bureacracy has messed up the programs it has now. Would you like the government telling you what you needed or not? I believe that should be up to you and your physician.
Please don't listen to Michael Moore, he is a "Sicko!"

There is nothing wrong with Health Care in the US and the American people are NOT 'sick' of it or from it.
What they are sick of is, the cost.
Americans don't like paying for anything. They want somebody to 'give' it to them as if it were some sort of birth right. At the same time they want the latest technology, cures for everything and they want to live forever so they can get more stuff for free over a longer period of time and complain about the population explosion.
These nit wits were ripe for the picking for Michael Moore.
What Michael Moore knows about medicine wouldn't fill an index card.
What he knows about exploiting emotional stupidity for the sake of commercializing a documentary to fill his pockets and add to his infamy is second to none.

I read most of the front page of the site you mentioned.
It is SOCIALISM!!!!
The government is going to tell private insurance companies how much money they can make, how many plans they can offer, and how much they can charge for coverages. That is blatant socialism.
If you agree with stuff like that, then you are an absolute idiot and anti-American. This country was founded in opposition to exactly what is described by this site. Read real history about the Stamp Act and why the Boston Tea Party really took place. Don't read that revisionist history crap. Read the facts.
As for Sicko and Michael Moore, the are not worthy of my opinion. They promote anti-Americanism, if I may coin the word, and should be banned from this country entirely. There is no documentary in any of his films. He edits them to fit his agenda.
If you want to fix the health care system, start with the legal system and in particular the judges that award these huge settlements for frivolous law suites. Start there and the costs of all insurance will quickly decrease.

Dear msvietpig...if the majority of the responses you have received represents public thinking in US, then I really don't understand how it is possible to live in the US?! The level of social and political illiteracy amazes me. I'm sooooo glad I live in Canada, in fact our biggest problem here are the corporate poodles we have in our government who are pushing integration with US!!!

American people are not sick of their health care it's just that some do not want to pay for it, they feel in titled. There is government help for those that really can't afford it.
Micheal Moore is a nut case. He manipulates things to make them appear like something they are not.

SiCKO is one of the greatest movies ever made. It was great to see a person, subject to constant ridicule from the Ruling party and its bunnies, inducing the "Lets do it" spirit in people. I hope people for once believe someone other than JESUS Bush.
