He was an ally even after he gassed the Kurds and used chemical weapons against Iran. We knew of his domestic brutalities for decades. We were perfectly fine with his regime from Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush I (until Kuwait), Clinton, Bush II (until 9/11 which Saddam had no part in) So why all the moral outrage over his deeds now, after we invaded and found no WMD's?

Is it just a case of "any excuse will do" because we want to control the Middle East and have a permanent military presence there? If so, then why would we not expect other ME countries to aid the insurgency and try to get us out of their region. Or develop nuclear weapons like Iran ( the U.S. doesn't mess with countries that have nukes...)

If Mexico or Canada were invaded, wouldn't we send them weapons and aid their fight against an occupier on our border?

As they are over tapping overseas conversations? From Amy Lorentzen of the AP:
Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards said on Sunday that his universal health care proposal would require that Americans go to the doctor for preventive care.

"It requires that everybody be covered. It requires that everybody get preventive care," he told a crowd sitting in lawn chairs in front of the Cedar County Courthouse. "If you are going to be in the system, you can't choose not to go to the doctor for 20 years. You have to go in and be checked and make sure that you are OK."

He noted, for example, that women would be required to have regular mammograms in an effort to find and treat "the first trace of problem."...

"The whole idea is a continuum of care, basically from birth to death," he said. [emphases added]

In NYC, for example, there has been, for over a year, mandatory reporting to the government by law of diabetics' blood sugar test results so that people with diabetes can be visited by government health police and strong-armed to do this or that in terms of conventional therapies or interventions (as determined and sanctioned by the government).

On June 27, 2006 the New York Times published a prominent op-ed essay by an influential professor at Columbia University, Barron H. Lerner, M.D., who suggests that people who test positive for HIV and who decline or refuse to take their prescribed antiretroviral drugs might be locked up in "detention wards" at places like Bellevue Hospital and, similar to people with tuberculosis, forcibly medicated with HIV-AIDS drugs for up to two years."

“I’ve got God’s shoulder to cry on, and I cry a lot.” In what Mr. Draper interpreted as a reference to war casualties, Mr. Bush added, “I’ll bet I’ve shed more tears than you can count as president.”

If it was narrowed down to where you had two candidates, one had less experience but had limited skeletons in the closet, or the other who had loads of experience but was also loaded with scandals and skeletons, which would you choose? Honesty or experience?

I can't hear that idiotic argument anymore, that we have to stay in Iraq and Afghanistan, because the Terrorist would follow our troops.
That argument is getting so stale, its pathetic.
9/11 was a colossal failure of our inteligence (CIA, FBI), our non exciting airport security and Condo Rice, who was responsible for it.
The 19 turban wearing idiots, who caused the damage, would not have a snowball chance in hell today.
What's your opinon?

When you don't work, Labor Day doesn't hold much significance.

Maybe it should be called Conservative Day so slothful people can show their gratitude to Conservatives who work and their taxes provide food, shelter and clothing for them.

Romney campaign took a huge hit when it’s national finance committee co-chairman, Alan B. Fabian was charged in a 23 count indictment, including charges of money laundering, mail fraud, perjury and obstruction of justice. It’s reported Fabian, a former Bush Pioneer, allegedly ran a scheme that netted him millions of dollars which were used to purchase beach front property and travel. The Romney campaign said they would return Fabian’s $2,300 campaign donation, but not funds donated by others through him. Fabian stepped down from Romney’s campaign shortly after his August 9th indictment

Everything from violent protests in the streets to flattening the tires of vehicles designed to help indigent Republican voters get to the polling places in Milwaukee . I think it's time that responsible liberals take a good long look at what the Democratic Party has become , and not what it used to be .

What do you think ?

Here's what I think :

I get knocked down. . . but I get up again
You're never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down . . but I get up again
You're never gonna keep me down

Pissing the night away. . . Pissin the night away
He drinks a whiskey drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him of the goodtimes
He sings songs that remind him of the better times

"Oh , Danny boy , Danny boy , Danny boy-y-y-y"

I get knocked down . . but I get up, again
You're never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down . . . but I get up again
YOU'RE NEVER GONNA KEEP ME DOWN (smile)
