No, that is why he was overruled. The founders knew that debate causes thought, and thought causes solutions to be developed. If you don't have disagreement, you do not progress, you remain stagnant and stale. We need political parties to promote thought via dissent and thus further our civilization.

That was a long time ago. all things have change for the better or worse. I cannot comment on what someone said that long ago.
