Yahoo weather for Iqualit the capitol of Nunavat Canada-

Very close to the north pole -

Yahoo weather says the Aug average should be between 38 and 50F -

The average for August (so far ) has been 42 and 55 F

Last Friday they anounced that the ice is thinner than it has ever been - and there is a month to go in the melt season for the Arctic Ocean - As you can see the temps are no where near freezing and they are more than warm enough to thaw the ice

Some of that ice has been there for 10,000 years plus

I watched a CBC documentary yesterday giving air time to the global warming deniers - (Dommsday called off) But no one was denying that it is getting warmer - Not one of them

What they are argueing about is simply cause -

"The hockey stick" graph excludes the medieval warming period etc - This isn't to say they are denying that the globe is warming - they say it is warming in fact

The Senate's vote to give President Bush expanded authority to eavesdrop on suspected foreign terrorists without court warrants provoked responses of taking away OUR rights and freedoms. But look at what this allows for: "authority to eavesdrop on suspected foreign terrorists".

How is this a problem? First, do you think the government cares even a little bit about your conversation with your friend? Using this logic should we not allow detectives to investigate crime as it may involve them "infringing" on your rights by say, blocking a public street for a while. Understand, the world has evil people in it (I know, we'll get the childish "Bush" responses). Sometimes, especially in war time certain things should be done to help ensure our safety and freedoms.

Personally, i think it was the biggest mistake in u.s. history. It was none of the u.s.'s business and definitely not necessary. What do you think?

While Detroit continues to fall victim to Corporate flight, GM is going where they can hire cheap labor. Some think this is actually beneficial to the US economy, and I've tried to under- stand that reasoning, but all I can think of is how my home town is deteriorating so fast. I live in Calif. now, but I visit relatives in Detroit. What used to be pretty residential streets now look like a war zone. The ghetto is growing.

Do you agree or disagree or do they infringe on laws of separation of church and state?

Before you gloat about it not being in the first amendment of the Constitution it is often implied by many.

Thoughts?

Continuously repeating something that doesn't work and expecting a different outcome is the definition of INSANITY.
Liberals want to give Marxism ANOTHER CHANCE!
Marxism has failed EVERY TIME IT HAS BEEN TRIED!
Thinking it would work if only we were to do it here in the United States is INSANE!
Liberalism is a "MENTAL DISORDER"*

Bill matches what Bush requested!

WASHINGTON - The Senate, in a high-stakes showdown over national security, voted late Friday to give President Bush expanded authority to eavesdrop on suspected foreign terrorists without court warrants.

There have been ZERO major terror attacks on USA since 9/11 so these wire taps, along with fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here must be working!

The Kurds and the Shi'ites have all the oil. The Sunnis want a lot of the Shi'ites oil. The Shi'ites will never give them a drop. And why should they? While the Sunnis were stealing the Shi'ites oil during the past 75 years, they never gave a drop to anyone.

So Bush's "democracy" - just deadly enemies stuck in a bloody feud - must and will fail!

Bush has only one rational (and immoral) reason to risk our guys in a foreign oil war: to blame his disaster on the next president.

The population of Iraq is 2/3 Shi'ite with the Kurds and the Sunnis splitting the rest. There are 4 Shi'ites for every Sunni. Bush's "democracy" is nothing but a Shi'ite clique. We have armed, trained, and protected the Shi'ite army for years. The Kurds are also helping the Shi'ites. Even Shi'ite Iran, our sworn enemy is helping the Shi'ites! Shi'ites rule!

And the Sunnis will never live under that rule!

Our guys are getting killed and maimed only because Bush will not admit his mistakes.

So I answered this question : Do you think god is punishing the scumbag hokies? VA tech massacre. Check. Gas leak in classroom. Check. Guess thats the price you pay for betraying your conference. All I said was that the Hokies transfering to the ACC had nothing to do with these incidents. 5 minutes after I posted my answer I received a message from Michael C. saying this: From: Michael C

Subject: Who cares?

Message: You think I give a damn one of your idiot friends got gunned down a VA Tech? No one gives a damn

This guy has been giving me crap all day making fun of my son because he was born handicapped, calling him a retard. Then he's been talking crap about my husband calling him a baby killer and how our military is a sham.

Why so angry Michael C? I'm sorry you have no friends, but with an attitude like that, I can understand why no one would want to be around you.

Has anyone else had any trouble from this jerk? Why fly off the handle over something so stupid?

Are you in favor or against the Supreme Court overruling California's court decision to remove the words, "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance?

Is this an example of constitutional law breaking laws pertaining to separation of church and state?
