They dont choose the war, they just support it because they cannot comprehend the meaning of Eisenhowers farewell address that forewarned the unscrupulous motives of the military industrial complex.

The elected officials they support choose war because its the way they prefer to make a raid on the treasury. Nothing spends like war. Nothing puts profits in the hands of a small number of elitist special interests like war. Nothing gives the military industrial complex a reason to turn up the production of their factories like war. Nothing is easier to sell to a bereft and fearful populace than war, and nothing fosters imperialism like war.

...and they react with hatred and vitriol to comments like these because nothing hurts like the truth.

Second Saddam broke 17 U.N. Laws for 17 years did you want to give 30 years and maybe then he would have complied, 17 years is a long time if he didn't get the message in those 17 years of diplomacy than he was never gonna get it

Also Jimmy Carter let Iran hold U.S. Hostages for over 454 days!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reagan got elected and said let them go or were gonna Kick your a@@, your not dealing with NO-BACKBONE CARTER ANYMORE, and the hostages were released right away.

War is the last resort in solving any conflict among nations. It's a matter of some considerable insight to be able to tell when diplomacy is working, or still may work, and when the other guy is just stringing you along until he can stab you in the back.

Conservatives tend to err on the distrustful side and abandon diplomacy too soon, while liberals tend to get knifed in the back.

Because war creates peace and the absence of war is not always mean peace. Look at every country the U.S. has defeated, we are at peace with. Look at the U.N. conflicts, we only have an unsettled peace, N Korea, Vietnam, Somilia ect.

I don't think of myself as a radical, but....

I believe firmly in "walk softly and carry a big stick" - but I also believe in using that big stick to beat the crap out of someone if necessary.

I don't know about the rest of the lot, but Bush chose war to secure his "legacy", and a fine legacy he will have. He will go down in history as an abomination to all mankind, and to every living creature upon the earth, and to the heavens.
