lets say a white guy from the USA tried to get a job at the CIA, but they denied him because he was a member of the Taliban (which can also be considered a political party). would the democrats and their ACLU "politburo" support him in suing the government because they "profiled" him and "discriminated" him based upon his religion/political affiliation? what if he considered himself a part of the taliban "race", would the US government be racist if they were to deny him a job because of this?

Terrorist threats, bird flu, pandemics, etc are all made up to put fear into us and therefore gives the government control over our minds and our fears and limits the things we do. Wake up and realize it. The only real danger is global warming and the War in Iraq. We don't need to lose any more soldiers.

This quote attributed to Ben Franklin is used so often by those who condemn the US anti-terror efforts.

I see the meaning as very different. I believe it means those of us not willing to take a stand and fight, with risk of death, our oppressors our enemy are trading freedom for security.

What do you think?

WASHINGTON - The Democratic-controlled Congress and President Bush seem locked in a perverse competition for public unfavorability, according to a new Associated Press-Ipsos poll.

The survey shows Bush's approval ratings at 35 percent, and Congress' even lower, 25 percent. Only 27 percent of those polled said the country is headed in the right direction, and 39 percent said they support the Iraq war, with 58 percent opposed... Among Democrats, a striking 70 percent disapproved and 26 percent approved..."

that the current crop of Presidential candidates are "under qualified" when among them you have successful Governors (Romney, Richardson, Huckabee), and long standing members of Congress (Biden, Kucinich, McCain) among others?

George Bush was a 1 1/2 term Governor with a history of being a "less than successful" businessman. Are these candidates any less qualified than he was?
