The democrats won in 2006 on a peace and end to the Iraq war platform. They lied.
It's no surprise really, when you look at the realpyramid of power in America, the Congress is a long way down and therfore their only purpose is to get into power to line their own pockets.
Congress are bought and paid for in their entirety. Well, except for Ron Paul of course.
All the democrat talk of ending war is blatant lies. The corporations who fund the candidate's election campaigns have portfolio's that are heavy with weapons manufacturer stock. The Raytheons, The Lockheeds, the BAe Systems, the Carlyle Groups stock etc. They also own oil stocks etc...
The media owners also own this stock, as do the banks and the pension and insurance industry CEO's etc etc.
War is big business and business is good. These business owners OWN the congress lock, stock and barrel.
Except Ron Paul of course.
The democrats will use the anti-war sentiment to get elected, and they will willfully and blatantly lie to their gullible supporter's faces and tell them that they are trying to end the war, but is is all sound and fury signifying NOTHING, but the open contempt in which the congress people hold the electorate.
They don't care about you, they are not interested in you at all. They are bought and paid for prostitutes of the corporations.
They will happily sell out the republic of the USA to the NAU and the NWO.
Educate yourselves on the CFR, the Trilateral Commision, the Bilderburgs, the Round Table Groups, the Rhodes Scholars, the Royal Institute of International Affairs at Chatham House, etc etc..
These think tanks are the front companies for the International bankers who create money out of thin air and then charge interest upon it, they own the Governments that are endebted to them. They are committed to creating a one world Government and the current Congress are marching full steam ahead to their tune.
They do Not care about you. They are not in congress to help you. They only help the people who put them there. The People in the think tanks who selected them and appoint them to the various committees and the people who open the doors for them to play out the plans of the international banking elite.
So, no I do not think that the Congress is doing a good job. They are not fit for purpose.
Elect Ron Paul 2008.

Republicans had it for 12 years and did nothing, include passing an anti terrorism bill that Clinton wanted in 1996, 10 years before 9/11!
I shouldn't say nothing, they approved cuts to the VA hospitals while giving Tax-Cuts to the rich! They also gave bush a blank check for over 5 years running up a 4 TRILLION dollar additional debt, Double that of this countries entire debt from George Washington thru Clinton! They made 500 new millionaires off of blood money from Iraq!
As far as the Democrats, unlike the Republicans, we don't have enough to override Bush's vetoes, but all of that is going to end. In the 1st 100 days the Democrats did more than the Republicans did in 12 years, include passing a raise in the minimum wage!!
Bush is being deserted and he is a lame duck! We don't need another 8 years of someone who lies as much as he does, and murders our troops in a war that should never of have been started, and if Bush told the TRUTH to the Congress, Iraq would not have happened!

It is truly amazing that the 100 hours of the Pelosi regime has gotten absolutely nothing done. The democrats can't even agree amongst themselves. And speaking of Pelosi, where is she? We have heard nothing from this speaker that remotely resembles leadership.
As for those of you who are disappointed about not impeaching Bush, on what specific grounds that were contrary to what Congress itself authorized and the current democrat candidates for president don't agree with?
The problem with you people is that Bush has played these liberal democrats in Congress like a fiddle and got the job done. This president has done more good for each and every one of you than you are capable of realizing.
This democrat Congress has done nothing of value and will do nothing because their teacher did nothing of consequence while he was in office. After all, didn't Slick Willie spend his last 3 years in office searching for his legacy?
NOTE: Do you think that maybe the thing the Bush wants are the same things that the American majority want? And if he is getting what he wants isn't it because the Congress is agreeing with him? Isn't that the way our government was built and has run for the past 200 plus years?

No, part of the problem is that congressional rules allow the minority party to resist. I beleive that this is a necissary evil. However, another part of the problem is that the democrats are in bed with the republicans on issues that hit us where it really matters; economic, trade, jobs etc. And do not forget that they were, and to some extent still are in support of the illegal war in Iraq. Protestations to the contrary are just lip service.

they have only been there 7 months, but they are beginning to get some momentum...the biggest issues they face is forcing the accountability of the Exec. Branch....you might see this as a waste of time because they are your guys, but they have been twisting the Constitution for 4 years and it's hard to get things back on track, esp. when the Democratic Congress does not have the votes to over ride the president...it's ideology clashing time
I really don't understand a comment like this coming from a Conservative. If the Democratic Congress was accomplishing their goals, you would be irate...Comments like this are useless

Terrible. They are doing worse than the republican control congress. Special interests, lots of pork and same old, same old....nothing changes only the people have changed. Same retoric and criticism of the war without any solutions. I am totally disgusted.

Even though they have the majority of the seats, they still don't have an overwhelming majority to unanimously win any votes.I personally don't like the fact that impeaching Bush was not an option. At least give the people who put you into power the faintest notion that you care.

No, they are doing a terrible job, but many of them are being forced to go along with whatever the Shrub wants, and besides, Shrub is doing whatever he wants anyway without consulting anyone--he's a virtual dictator.

They NEED to move to impeach Bush/Cheney. As long as the Senate is almost evenly divided D/R nothing will get done because the Republicans keep supporting the Bush administration and blocking any real change.
