Fascism is an authoritarian political ideology (generally tied to a mass movement) that considers individual and other societal interests subordinate to the needs of the state, and seeks to forge a type of national unity, usually based on, but not limited to, ethnic, cultural, or racial attributes. Various scholars attribute different characteristics to fascism, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: nationalism, authoritarianism, statism, militarism, corporatism, populism, totalitarianism, anti-communism, racism and opposition to economic and political liberalism. Nevertheless, contrary to popular belief, racism is not a requirement of Fascism

we now have to pay for the war in Darfur. The UN is sending 26000 troops but we have to help pay for it. We need to keep out of it like the world always tells us. Why is this any different than Iraq? And don't give me the genocide excuse.

This is serious, I'm not looking for smart *** answers. I get that you don't like Bush and you believed he lied about going into Iraq. But now that we are there and terrorists are there (and we are gonna have to fight them somewhere) why don't we continue fighting them in Iraq? Every life lost over there is tragic, but in comparison to other wars and to what could happen if we retreat I think the total numbers of soldiers lost is low. If we do pull out of Iraq what would be your solution for fighting terrorism?

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that Hillary Clinton wins the next election. She is sworn in and the war continues as it is for nine months. Then, in September 2009, Muslim extremists fly planes into buildings in a major city in the United States.

Who is to blame? George W. Bush, for not doing enough about terrorism while he was in office? Or Hillary Clinton, or not doing enough in her first nine months in office?

I'm curious what people think about this.

It seems that everything we do can be used as part of the radicals' propaganda that we are out to destroy their religion and culture and steal their lands or natural resources. They can point to our actions and say "see we told you thats what they wanted to do".

and everything they do, also bolsters the more radical amongts us as well. So that when they do cut off the head of some christian missionary who is in their land and influencing muslims, we can point to that vile act and say "see we told you these were crazy blood thirsty savages".

This seems to really be a clash of cultures and begs the question....what would happen if we just stopped giving each other opportunities for the other guy to say "I told you thats what would happen"...and use each others actions as propaganda??

All Clintonite's accuse us for passing the buck, if we blame Clinton for this but he is stilll to blame, Clinton is the man to blame for the lives lost in Iraq...

Only 2 weeks after Clinton took office the US was attacked then 5 more times the steps he took would be in fact his blame if he left America in danger.....

Clinton had obligations he never faced, he was more worried about leaving office with a budget, that he would be remembered for.

Clintonite's blame the republican control congress in his term. Clinton Let bin Laden Slip Away and Metastasize Republicans in congress urged him to accept when Sudan offered up the terrorist and data on his network.

President Clinton and his national security team ignored several opportunities to capture Osama bin Laden and his terrorist associates.

Blame Clinton he earned that right!

Representative Murtha has attached an earmark (You know I thought the Democrats were brought into office in 2006 to get rid of these) for a $1 million dollar Center for Instrumental Critical Infrastructure in his district. Trouble is besides it being a big earmark there is no listing for this organization anywhere and even the Democratic committee chair had no knowledge of what it was when the Republicans tried to offer an admendment to pull it from the bill. No answer from Abscam Johnny on what this is to fund, maybe a pool in his back yard or as in the past a contract for clients like his brother's firm or a former staffers firm he has been investigated for. And don't forget John Murtha was one of the main figures in Abscam the where the FBI had him on film negotiating a possible bribe with Arabs. And don't just think this is a right wing issue the left leaning Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in DC list him as one of the five members to watch in their list of the five

Libs, I was talking to this woman today who used to be a liberal and she was explaining to me why you guys hate God. She said "Democrats don't need faith in Jesus because to them there is nothing that can't be fixed by the welfare state".

Is this true?

After the events of the last few years, increasing tensions all over the Middle East, Venezuela threatening to hike up their oil prices, and continued complaints over our reliance on foreign oil, why are we STILL not drilling in ANWR?

The reasons for not drilling in the first place weren't ever properly clarified or supported. Was it the wildlife? That doesn't make much sense, considering that previous pipelines actually increased animal populations (as they congregate around the warm pipes and thus mate more frequently). Was it not worth the effort for what we can extract? Then why are our companies the ones the Russians are hiring to drill their oil in arctic environments?

Isn't it hypocritical to keep banging the 'foreign oil' drum while we still refuse to take even the most remedial steps to alleviate the problem?
