1. Find and kill Osama bin Laden. You know, the guy who ordered the 9/11 attacks. This may require a redeployment of some troops out of Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9/11.

2. Get the rest of the troops out of Iraq, and find something meaningful for them to do.

3. Get serious about poverty in America. If that means I have to raise taxes through the roof on people making over $10 million a year, I'll do it. They can afford it.

4. National health insurance. The insurance lobby can kiss my @$$, since they won't have contributed to my campaign anyway. I'd rather give the American people the access they deserve and be called a socialist by a bunch of ignorant boobs who have no idea what socialism really looks like (try www.ndp.ca) than let the abomination of 47 million people without health insurance continue.

5. See if I can do something to reverse the environmental disaster the previous administration left.

6. Make Paris Hilton an Ambassador. To a small country far away. She'll be out of our country, and she won't be able to mess things up much.

Any other ideas? Your President is listening. Come to think of it, that would already be a major change.

To be President, you have to be 35, so you'll have to wait almost 20 years. Actually, you'll probably have to wait more than that, because most people probably won't want to elect anyone under 40. Get involved in politics in any way you can. Attend political rallies, get involved in school policy making, and study politics and its history. Study what key debating points have been in the past and in the present, and decide where you stand on those ideas. Participate in online debates, political forums, etc. Debate with your friends and classmates on certain issues - you take one side and your friend the other, no matter what you believe. It's much harder to defend something you don't believe in, so if you can defend the opposite point of view, you'll probably be pretty good at debating. Also, this lets you see what your opponent's objections to your view will be and what you can defend yourself with. It will let you see the holes in your defense, and you'll be able to fix them. Try and invent something or get a really good job and make a lot of money. If you're going to run for President, you're going to need one hell of an income, and you probably don't want a bunch of people clustering around you with I.O.U's if you become President. If you don't become President, you're definitely not going to want to have them standing around you with their I.O.U's. If your school offers internships, see if you can get one at your senator's or representative's office. If not, see if you can set up a private interview with your senator or representative. Be persistent, they're very busy and might not have time for quite a while. Once you graduate college (preferably with a degree in politics), get involved in the city politics - you must start small-time or you'll get nowhere. Get involved with your neighborhood association. Once you feel comfortable there, try and apply for a place on the town board. After a while, try to run for supervisor. After that, work your way up - mayor, representative, senator, governor, whatever. Stay involved in Congress for several years before you decide to go for President. Good luck!

First thing, eliminate the Electoral College by executive order, allow for the establishment of diverse political parties, and any political party with a membership of more than 500,000 gets put on the ballot. Call for general elections withing 6 to 12 months, hopefully we will get rid of both the Republicans and Democrats and if nothing else the president would be elected by popular vote.

I'd cracksome heads in congress and remind them that they are supposed to represent their constituents and not fall solidly on party lines...so few of them understand that most basic of ideas in a representative system of gov't!
