Both parties wage wars against non-enemies (Iraq under Bush I;Somalia, Bosnia, and Kosovo under Clinton;Afghanistan and Iraq under Bush II). Both parties expand the size of government (Bush I raised taxes; Clinton banned so-called "assault weapons" and passed all kinds of sexual laws that he himself didn't follow; Bush II doubled the size of the Department of Education and created the Medicare Part D entitlement program, the largest such scam since Lyndon Johnson's Not So Great Society). Both parties strongly support "mental health" scams, which include proscribing the anti-depressant murder drugs that lead to school shootings. Both parties support Social inSecurity and Farm Subsidies that pay farmers not to grow food. Both parties support the unconstitutional IRS tax and Federal Reserve.

Why don't the American people see through this charade and realize that there is absolutely no difference between the parties.

The electoral college was created because at the time transportation and communication was much more difficult. It would take months for a vote to be sent from certain areas, so they created the elctoral college.

I, for one, would much rather be taxed a little higher in order to receive Universal Health-care coverage. I hadn't realized before seeing "Sicko" how the American system is set up to LITERALLY put a price on our health! It's ridiculous.

We don't pay directly for our police, fire, or public libraries (which is why we pay state taxes), so why must we pay into this high-stakes game and gamble on such a priceless commodity as our nation's health?

For people like the moms in Philly that left their kids home and went to the bar, and then the home burned down, and killed all 5 kids? Or for women who kill or abuse their kids? Or crack addicted women. It seems to me that child birth is not a right, rather a privilege. I know it sounds bad, but there are some real bad people out there, and if they have kids, or more kids, they will just hurt them too.

Jimmy Carter is always good for hearty laugh. He recently called the Bush administration the “worst in history.” Realizing he is and looks like a complete idiot he has since backpedaled and called his remarks “careless”. I would say so Jimmy! A major indicator of ones effectiveness in office is whether you can be re-elected. After four years in office the American people give you what amounts to a de facto job evaluation. Mr. Carter was voted off the Planet. He lost forty four states to Reagan. George W. Bush was re-elected with fifty-one percent of the popular vote -- the first outright majority for any presidential candidate since his father in 1988, and the first president since Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1936 to be re-elected while gaining seats in both the House and the Senate. (Note: Clinton NEVER got over 50% of the vote.)

Let's pretend like the U.S. is divided down the center. The western half is run by progressive Democrats, the eastern half is run by conservative Republicans. Those who fall in-between will have to make a choice as to which side to pick (sorry). We set up borders and allow free trade, but nobody is allowed to immigrate permanently to the other side.

The western side will have socialized health care, and all government operated programs that they wish. The conservatives will opt to have their federal government to give them protection (paid through taxation), but nothing else. On the eastern side, most decisions will be made by states or municipalities as voted on by the residents. This includes schools, social programs, etc.

Trade between the two entities is allowed, as it is now.

In 30 years time, who do you think will fare better, and why?

I see the latest Gallup poll has the Democrat controlled congress polling at an impressive 24% approval rating. This is a ten point drop from when the Republicans were in charge.

"According to the June 11-14, 2007, survey, 24% of Americans approve and 71% disapprove of the way Congress is handling its job. Congressional approval is down five points since last month and more than 10 points from the higher support levels in January and February following the Democratic takeover. "

Many posts that I read on YA seem to point out the difference in many liberals peculiar rationalization process. Again, many but not all liberals that I have/do know seem to be of a "follower" or "group(ie)" mentality. The problem with this mentality is that it leaves such people "open" to being marketed/processed by ones they have chosen to admire/follow. An example of this is the pathetic exploitation of Jane Fonda. The folks that processed her got what THEY wanted & Jane got tubed in the end, with no way back to regain any dignity. Many liberals possess this cultic mentality of circuituous reasoning as they are truly "marketed" by who ever holds sway over them. Once "in the fold" they are simply "processed" to think that the end starts at the beginning & the "endless" quest of reasoning never leaves it's programed path. Many Christians I have known are duped in the same way by "PHP's", or Power Hungry Pastor's. Has any of you experienced this phenomena in liberals before?
