They brought us into the war, and they got exactly what they deserved! Yet 60 plus years later, they are still whining and complaining about it being excessive. Get over it already.

They have no one to blame but themselves. it's been a long time and we are allies now so anyone who has issues should get over it.

The targets did have military and industrial importance and had the Japanese surrendered prior to that we would not have had to bomb them. Were we supposed to invade the country and lose tens of thousands of American soldiers?

The US used the Armegedon Weapon NOT when it's very existence was at stake and it was fighting for it's life but rather when the Japanese were effectively defeated and were massively retreating back to Japan.

It was simply a matter of time before Japan surrendered .The US could have simply surrounded Japan and embargoed everything in and out but they decided not to use just one horrid atomic bomb but two on seperate targets.

Many view the vile US action as similar to the shooting of a person in the back as they are fleeing.

Understandable but un-acceptable anger and the thirst for revenge were pivitol motivators in the US decision to bomb.

The US is the ONLY COUNTRY ever to use an atomic weapon in conflict .Even Regan's Soviet EVIL EMPIRE decided NOT to use it's vast atomic weaponery to save itself from the implosion of the USSR .

Who is the EVIL EMPIRE ????

Pretty sick to equate the Jews who suffered the holocaust with the Japanese.

The Jews were slaughtered by their own countrymen, simply for being Jews.

The Japanese attacked the US, which defended itself until the japanese surrendered because of the bomb.

In addition, the Japanese had the opportunity to surrender in between the first bomb and the second one, which they were warned would be used if they didn't surrender. They declined. It really took both bombs to end that war.

Everyone reminds themselves of historic mistreatment,
so that they might be able to prevent these mistreatments, from happening ever again........ The Jews remind us of the Holocaust, and the Blacks remind us of the Slave trade. Even though not only Jews were used medically, starved and gassed, the Jews remind us. (Christans, including Catholics, were also used and mistreated.)
Not only Blacks were branded (owned), sold, used for hard labor, and mistreated, but they remind us. (Some were Europeans in large debt to slave traders, and many died on the way over on the slave boats.) WE need to make this a better world .......if we forget, we fail.... Or maybe nukes are one of the ozone's largest contributors!

Many people have difficulty letting go of the past. Everyone needs to *get over it*!

The list of countries that "should" apologize is endless. Why waste all that time when we should simply recall the lessons of history and try not to make the same mistakes?

Exactly WHO got what they deserved?

The majority of victims were civilians in areas with little military value. Also, the majority of civilians had grown tired of the war and had little, if any, sympathy for Japan's imperialist government.

They brought us into the war by attacking military targets. The big problem with the nuclear attacks is there was no regard for saving civilian lives. And there was a second one pretty soon after. Even though there wasn't an imminent threat after the first one.

the japanese deserved it; and they're a bunch of ______ for complaining about it- they always like to play the victim when in fact they butchered 25 million innocent men, women, and children-

its just that loser mentality about the war they got- japanese losers; the losers in hiroshima and nagasaki can just eat it
