I laugh when people say Fox News is unbiased when they have lied numerous times and it is owned by right-winger Rupert Murdoch and one of the most famous anchors on that channel is Bill O'Reilly, who loves to have people who's ideas he doesn't not like to come on the show only to have their thoughts slammed in their face by his ranting. CNN is a little too far left for my tastes. MSNBC is still a little left, but they are probably the most neutral considering a favorite on the channel is conservative Pat Buchannan and they have let-wingers on there to debate with the right-wingers on most political issues.

"... identified 143 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 16 gave to Republicans. Two gave to both parties."

Based on this sample provided by MSNBC, it seems that journalists are overwhelmingly liberal. (This fact was already clear to me based on my exposure to students of the Journalism school while I was getting my graduate degree)

Do you believe that journalists are able to overcome their personal (and mostly left leaning) biases and report balanced news?
Or, do you think that personal beliefs influence their writing and reporting, resulting in a leftward biased media?

to be wrongfully accused of being something your not? I just posted a question "What Is Liberalism...Really", which I fully admit was not nice and certainly doesn't represent most of the people on this forum. My apologies for that. I did it to prove a point. That point being, that we all get offended and we all shouldn't be stereotyped. As a conservative, I've been called a racist, a cold-hearted person, and a list of things a mile long. Am I not supposed to be offended at times also?

Again, my apologies for being childish and lashing out.

Maybe all the wealth is concentrated on the few and we aren't really that rich per capita. I'd say america is alot like the titanic, pretty boat but most full of peasants. Should anything go wrong I bet most of us would drown.

You re-elected Bush after Fahrenheit 9-11

So I guess you'll still vote for an anti-health care candidate the next time.....

I know I will get some ignorant extreme right wing responses to calling myself a liberal, but I am for several things liberals are for. I am for caring more about the environment. I am also for stem cell research and getting rid of big businesses. I believe they are wrong about Iraq, however. We must stay there until the job is done. It wasn't a good idea necessarily to enter Iraq, but we have no choice but to stay. I think more people would accept liberalism if it was called by a different name. It's just that liberal doesn't sound too intimidating.

I just read several responses stating that if a victim of a crime is black or gay, or a minority, that the crime is deemed 'hate crime'. Is this correct? Or do hate crimes deal with THE TYPE OF CRIME COMMITTED, and that if you kill someone BECAUSE they are gay etc...you are guilty of a hate crime? I think it is important for people to understand the difference...so what do you think?

Americans are prohibited by the US government to travel to Cuba or buy anything from Cuba like cigars, we would be breaking the law if we do. Same goes for North Korea, we can't travel or buy anything from there.

Is this really freedom?

The US has also done numerous assassination attempts to kill Fidel Castro, the US has tried from using explosive cigars to using poison.

Cuba has good to very close political relations with all of the countries in the continent of America (including Canada)except for the US

and you guys call Fidel "evil"? maybe you should look in the mirror to see true evil.

The Supreme court ruled in favor of free speech for an anti-abortion election ad:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070625/ap_on_go_su_co/scotus_campaign_finance

However, the Liberal judges opposed the ruling. I wonder why? I thought Liberals were in support of the first amendment!

So, why didn't the Liberal judges vote according to the 1st Amendment rights to give this group the free speech rights it deserves?

However, I AM pleased to see that the ACLU agrees with the decision. However, their name is right in front of the NRA. Is that a typo? Or did the ACLU and the NRA actually agree on something?

And why was the NRA involved anyway?

Ok, I am a very Liberal person. Why is it that I am hated for a political view? Why is it that Conservatives and Liberals continue to bicker instead of working together to find common grounds and compromises? We are all Americans, but we divide ourselves over politics. Why do you hate me cause I'm Liberal, and why does a Liberal hate a Conservative? I love political debates, but why does it often become an arguement? I'm so sick of this divide and this hate. This nation will never move forward if we continue to argue and stall out on every issue! It's no longer about what type of person you are, but instead about whether you are Democrat or Republican (I am neither by the way). I may hate some Conservative politicians (as well as some Liberals), but I will never hate someone for voting for one. What is this nation coming to? Red or Blue, Conservative or Liberal, Republican or Democrat; who cares? We are all Americans and should be proud that we have the chance to disagree!
