I know I will get some ignorant extreme right wing responses to calling myself a liberal, but I am for several things liberals are for. I am for caring more about the environment. I am also for stem cell research and getting rid of big businesses. I believe they are wrong about Iraq, however. We must stay there until the job is done. It wasn't a good idea necessarily to enter Iraq, but we have no choice but to stay. I think more people would accept liberalism if it was called by a different name. It's just that liberal doesn't sound too intimidating.

I am not far left or far right. The far left are communists and the far right are fascists; neither which I care about sharing ideology with.

I am indepenant but I would certainly call myself more Liberal (way more than conservative) I totally agree with you. I also think it is time that we care more for our environment, and start using stem cell research to fight deadly diseases! I not only think Iraq was a fluke, but I beleive Bush should be empeached!! I am also a supporter of gay marraige because I am against descrimination. So I find there to be no problem in being called Liberal, cause i guess I am!

The extreme right is either extremely wealthy and don't care about helping those less fortunate than themselves and feel that they are special because of an accident of birth, or they are ignorant rednecks who think that the wealthy actually care about them.
There is nothing wrong with being somewhat liberal in ideaology, it means that you are interested in giving something back and care about the human race. The main problem with the extreme right is for everyone to be taken care of, they might have to give something up.
It would be nice if they could find something else to bash instead of calling everyone who doesnt agree with them "liberal" Some on here actually call Bush a "liberal." Maybe we should change their vocabulary, like changing the word "welfare" to "helping others"
What a concept.

Do you believe that the government should tell you to spend money. I dont believe in stem cell research, morally or that it will be of great benifit medically. we will see. I do not want my dollars destroying life for a guess. You say get rid of big business, and replace with a big government. At least the private sector is somewhat efficient. And why is it that only libs care for the enviroment? As if conservatives dont. The problem with libs is they do not take reponsibility. Vote for the war, but. They were in control of louisiana and New orleans, during Katrina, but. All it seems they want is people to depend on them. Just my take, though

A lot of people are afraid of change. Especially if it is going to cost them money.
Not to many people are far left OR far right. Most people are in the middle somewhere. With tendencies towards left or right. The name calling and the blaming are just ways for both parties to avoid issues. It's like a magicians slide of hand. You keep your eye on one hand while the other is setting up the trick.

A newly formed party that looks to get one Dem. and one Rep. together on one ticket. That is to run together as Pres. and V.P. To help insure bipartisan in the government.

I'm about as liberal as they come, but you're wrong about big business. Big business is good for all of us, but it needs to be regulated to limit the degree to which their natural bottom-line orientation causes them to behave irresponsibly with respect to labor and environmental issues.
That was easier when most businesses were national in scope; now there need to be international standards of corporate regulation in order avoid creating imbalances in international competition and driving business out of their countries of origin.
But we do need business of all sizes for a healthy and well balanced economy.

A little Liberal, Say like Teddy Roosevelt. He carried a gun a shot stray dogs for recreation. That's what liberal gets you into.
You carry a gun and shoot stray terrorists. How can a Military Industrial Complex make a profit with that kind of rogue activity.

'Somewhat?' Nothing. It's extremists who are troublesome. Of course, I don't know how you plan to 'get rid of big business' without some pretty extreme measures...
