It seems that any point of view other than theirs is an assult on America. Isn't the differing opinions the basis of American freedom?

Or shall we accept that other people's cultures, opinions, views are just as important as ours.

During the Vietnam war, there was a drastic turning point in American approval and attitude towards the war. In a single day, the Tet offensive demoralized the American people and caused widespread calls for the U.S. to pull out and leave Vietnam to it's fate. The American peoople watched horrified as Viet Cong soldiers attacked and entered the U.S. embassy. The overall opinion after that day was that America was losing the war.

The little thing that was kept out of most people's minds is that EVERY attack on that day failed. The day was ultimately a military disaster for the Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese Army. Never the less the pschological impact was done not so much by the enemy on the ground. But by the images sent back to the States.

Do you think the modern media misrepresents the war in Iraq today? Do you agree with CNNs decision to give voice to the terrorist snipers? Do you think it's a media circus that causes hate for America to spread here and abroad?

the secrecy, lies, deception, of the current corporate regime we now have - is a disaster -
They hire friends of theirs instead of experts in the fields - "w" will fire anyone who tells him the truth about the way things really are -

Why wasn't 9/11 treated as a crime scene?
Enron the biggest campaign contributor
Katrina's FEMA headed up by a horse show guy- who admited it's handling was a mistake
"w" desparate to get into Iraq - since before the election in 2000
Cheney's haliburton gets the catering job in Iraq- no bidding for fed contracts - why?

and you guys are still DAZED by Clinton... I don't get it...

wow he got himself a BJ - at least he was man enough to admit the truth when the heat was on -

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention the abortion rate among women in the USA is only 2%. With such a small number of the population opting for abortion, why is it such a major issue in this country?
This figure indicates that 98% of the women in this country would never consider abortion as a means of birth control. This fact gives testimony to a high moral standard in the USA of which we should be proud.
Why are we so split over an issue that is nearly non-existent? Does this issue only serve the politicians as a vote grabber?

Liberals must sleep so much better at nights knowing that we didn't sanction all the warmongering that is going on. All the Greed. All the Restrictions on Freedoms. The discolorization of the Constitution.

Wear your Liberalism with pride, Brothers and Sisters

it's like "solidarity" is a four letter word to you people. why is everything always somebody else's fault? and how can you all act like just because someone calls themselves a democrat or republican, they're a different species from you? you know there are liberal republicans and conservative democrats, right?

it just hurts to see so many pointing fingers and generalized fault-finding, when we all want the same things. and even when we disagree, why is it that nobody seems to want to debate logically? or nobody even wants to consider for a second that the other might be right?

for example, i consider myself a liberal democrat, but i dont hate the president. i dont he should be impeached. i think he does what he finds to be in the best interest of the country. i find that many hate blindly, because it's easy.

so in summation, can't we all just get along? can't we agree to disagree amiably?

Should the US government hire the one who gives the lowest bid?

All these companies are capable of delivering.

How about job training? Maybe a time limit, no lifetime leeches. I like the idea of social programs being in place just in case someone is down on their luck. Though it has to be better regulated, how about making it a state issue and not a federal issue?

Look, I know about as much about our nations politics as the average 35 year old, (BTW I am 20). I'm not an expert, I don't watch the news every day, but I do like Bush for my own reasons which I won't go into right now. Actually, I want to hear from all those people who keep complaining about him. Tell me why. Why don't you like him? Ok, granted he should NEVER give his own speeches, and sure, we could find a few obvious personal motives for some of the decisions he has made. The truth is, though, that we could find many politicians as least as corrupt if not more, and show me a human alive who doesn't have some of that in them. So anyways, here is your chance to voice it; please don't hold back. Tell me what you think about bush and WHY, and please be in depth. (E.g. don't say things like "Bush is dumb" please.)

I know I sound callow when I ask this question, but how can we get out of Iraq while saving face?

I think we should add 50,000 more soldiers, go on a three month CRACKDOWN campaign, declare Iraq stable, and get out of there. FAST! Then again, I wouldn't want to be apart of that extra 50,000.

Maybe I'm overthinking it. Maybe we should just declare that our mission to be successful and leave. I don't see anything wrong with leaving Iraq and then spinning it as a victory. lol...Hey, don't laugh, at least it's a plan.

Short of, say, abandoning a major US city, starting a war with false evidence, raising the debt by trillions while applying highly uneven tax cuts....lying to the public, overriding the constitution, etc etc etc. Soliciting young boys on the internet, wiretapping, spying.

Are your heroes infallible in your eyes? Or is there really something they could ever do that would change your perspective on them?

The problems we have in our own country would take priority over other countries' problems, right? It seems to me that the U.S. spreads itself too thin by "adopting" problems that other coutries are having. An analogy: Wouldn't you attempt to save your own children in a fire before trying to save anybody else?
I think that we have to make ourselves well before trying to aid other countries. We are part of the U.N. but we carry an extremely larger burden than the other World Powers. Can anyone explain this in better terms?

"Somehow, the more soldiers that die, the more legitimate the illegal invasion becomes," Kevin Tillman wrote.

"Somehow American leadership, whose only credit is lying to its people and illegally invading a nation, has been allowed to steal the courage, virtue and honor of its soldiers on the ground," he wrote.

anyone want to prove to me how higher taxes are more beneficial to the economy and to people than lower? did you liberals know that if you raise taxes too high then it worsens the business environment? did you know that every country runs on business? without businesses, the tax money would come from NOWHERE, so you cant say its bad to support business. if you lower taxes, it makes the business environment (1)more favorable, (2)more people and businesses will invest (3)when people dont have to pay high taxes, they have more money to spend, (4)when people spend its good for business, (5)if business is good then the government gets more revenue, (6)if taxes are high then business doesnt work so well, people dont spend so much, the government gets less money even though taxes are higher, because more revenue is collected through SALES than through income tax. even Hillary knows this, but shes a self-proclaimed socialist. dont bring the deficit up, its because of the war, obviously.
