I dont think there are any positive to either party! They do not srve the people that they are supposed to serve, which is the voters of the US!
I do however feel deocrats come a little closer than republicans do!

both parties will say they are the only ones with open minds and both parties will say they are the only ones with intelligence, not realizing how closed minded and ignorant they sound. democrats are people first then business and republicans are business for the people. both have valid points but neither system can work without the other. the negative is that neither party has realized they need the other party to work... if they could work together we would truly be as great a nation as we think we are.

Well I won't bias this with what I think are the possitives and the negatives I'll just tell you about the 2 parties and you can decide what is good and what is bad.
Democrat
supports a larger government to take care of its people- ie welfare, social security, medicare, medicaid
supports larger taxes for more wealthy individuals
is anti-big business
supports a woman's right to choice
believes that the federal government should have more power than individual states
supports the needs of middle and working class families
Rebulican
-big military
-small federal government large state government
-anti-gun control
-pro prayer in school
-pro death penalty
-pro big business
-tax cuts for the rich
-anti welfare
- pro privitization of social security
-pro-life
... there are more issues but thats just a little sneak-peak

It is hard to generalize here since there are a broad range of beliefs on both sides, but I'll try:
Democrats care about the poor and middle class but do not care about the unborn.
Republicans care about the unborn but not the poor or middle class.
Democrats care about preserving our freedom, but at the cost of practically eradicating our ability to express our religious beliefs in public.
Republicans care about preserving our ability to express those beliefs wherever and whenever we choose, at the cost of oppressing those who do not practice the majority religion.
So which is the lesser of two evils?
I would add to this, but just about anything else I come up with is going to sound pro-democrat and I don't think that's the kind of answer you are looking for. Evil is in the eye of the beholder.

the repubs have shown us very little in the way of inspiring unity and growth in America-
it seems like any gains are because the people in this country work really hard to make run -DESPITE the Bush admin-
Dems have been all but totally muffled, however- even Kerry explained in simple language how to do the war in Iraq - (2004) by first securing the Iraqi borders and settling things down internally-
the Dems actually have lots of methods and plans and are great at running he country and economy -
lately the righties must continually shout them down, to avoid the bright light of truth making them look like the failed leaders that they truely are
The economy under Clinton - booming
the economy under Bush - millions MORE are below the poverty line than ever before - jobs? 6$ an hour it's less than a living wage - but being counted as a repub success-
the lies are catching up real fast now days

Here are some differences. I'll let each person decide what is good & what is bad.
D: Believe all wealth belongs by right to the govt.
R: Believe all wealth belongs by right to those who earn it.
D: Think that it is protected speech to yell fire in a crowded theater.
R: Think it is protected speech to yell movie in a crowded firehouse.
D: Think all opinions are equally valid.
R: Know that there is a difference between right & wrong.
D: Think that we need to ask "UN may I?" before defending ourselves
R: Are ready to defend ourselves no matter what anyone else says.
D: Think that the Constitution is a suicide pact.
R: Know that President Lincoln was correct when he said it wasn't.

Rubilicans are fine. This Administration is not at all in keeping with real Republicans. Democrats are our only hope.

Positive of Democrats- At least the try to do the right thing, and i think for the most part, their intention is good. they just go about it the wrong way
Negative of Democrats- Killing the unborn, going to extremes with their bleeding hearts and sympathizing with terrrorists, hiking up the tax, beinbg too soft on dangerous criminals, being too naiive about "world peace"... , lack of morals...the list goes in but its too long to continue here.
Positive of Republicans-morals, family values, religion, small government, not as much government interference, patriotism, defense of our nation, pro-middle class, pro-life,...
Negative of republicans- too anti-gays. arn't all men created equal? maybe sometimes too religious. i dunno. cant think of too many negatives.
