Even though he is himself a former army ranger.

"Somehow, the more soldiers that die, the more legitimate the illegal invasion becomes," Kevin Tillman wrote.

"Somehow American leadership, whose only credit is lying to its people and illegally invading a nation, has been allowed to steal the courage, virtue and honor of its soldiers on the ground," he wrote.

Probably. Attacking critics is central to the Rove method.
Witness what they did to decorated Vietnam vets like John Murtha, Max Cleland (who lost an arm and both legs) and John Kerry.
It's easy. Equate patriotism with blind obedience and label doubters as disloyal.
Note how Frank H above dares to assume that he knows what Pat Tillman would think of his brother's actions.
The amazing and disappointing part is that this stuff actually works.

Kevin Tillman is entitled to his opinion and it carries some weight due to his military service. I do think he is speaking out of anger for the death of his brother and perhaps that is understandable.

That differs considerably from the lame attempt by Democrats to trot out "untouchables" like Cindy Sheehan to help them beat Republicans. By putting up people who have lost loved ones or who served in the military, they try to insulate those candidates and spokespeople from any criticism. It is amazing that Democrats are so willing to give a platform for military people who want to criticized the war, but don't do the same for those brave people who served and agree with our position. I am not sure what you call that kind of behavior.

Everyone mourns in different ways. Some people need to place blame while others feel the need to stalk the president. Tillman was a very brave and wonderful man. What he did for this country was incredible. He quit playing football to serve his country. I still tear up when I think about his story.

He doesn't back it up with any credible facts. I'm sure his brother would be disappointed in what he's written. Pat Tillman is a hero and his brother is just bitter about his death. I wouldn't slam anyone who's lost a family member or friend in the war...but you have to understand that the death of a loved one is the real reason they don't support the war...not because it's wrong.

Opposing the war is her right as well as Pat Tillmans brother. Nobody "dissed" Cindy Sheehan until she became a tool of the far left.

This is actually a very good question -- if the Republicans are consistant they'll be out in force calling this guy a traitor and an idiot... but we'll see. Hopefully the Republicans still have an ounce of reason left and they'll keep their mouths shut.

I'm sure they will but I won't (I'm a conservative). He has the right to criticize the war as much as anyone else does since he's been there.
