I don't like the question - the idea of choosing who lives or dies.
So why did I answer it? Well, it is intriguing - very much so.
I would want to save the institutions of Western Civilization, because I think they provide the most freedom, prosperity and capacity for tolerance of all. America, England, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, France, Germany, Canada, India.
Again, a very arbitrary list.
Losing any civilization would be an incalculable loss.
I wish we could all get along . . .

-OK, fine, for the technical smarta$$es out there (Brooks B), no Scotland does not meet the criteria of an Independent State -but in most ways it is still treated as its own. Therefore, it is separate on my list.
